We are a family run fabric shop in the wonderful spa town of Harrogate, We have been here for over 50 years supplying fabric to the people of Yorkshire, our fabric experience spans two generations giving us a great understanding of fabrics and haberdashery.
We started sending fabric by mail order over 25 years ago and still send out our little catalogue, but 10 years ago we found a little area on the world wide web and The Remnant House Fabric online was live, since then the website has grown and we offer all types of fabric, dress fabric, quilting fabric, furnishing fabric and much more.

I ordered the Pollenca Crystal Dot stretch velvet to find that even though its described with the word crystal, the dots are in fact a dull silver. The picture doesn't reflect this as it's unclear. They won't take the fabric back, even though they could easily sell it as a remnant, so I'm £25 down and stuck with fabric I can't use. Poor description and even poorer service.

Never had any issues before until today. Made an order, called up to cancel it later that day due to a mistake. I got promised on the phone that it was fine and the refund will be started the following day. The next day I got a call saying they had already posted it and can't refund it. I was promised that it was fine on the phone (despite double checking and telling the lady I spoke to that I understand if not) so have spent the £60 elsewhere and am now left out of pocket.
Won't be returning to this shop which is a shame because I have previously shopped here a lot and it was one of my favourites

This shop is fantastic. There are very few independent shops with the vast selection of fabrics, notions and experienced staff who understand the needs of the sewing community. I was making a Luna Lapin doll and got lovely fabric from here. However, the name Remnant House does not do it justice, it actually has 2 floors of top quality material. I came from Newcastle and will be returning soon. Well worth a trip to Harrogate.

Had looked forward to returning to this shop, however I did not find the staff very helpful despite the shop being quiet. When I got home I found the fabric I had bought at £15.99 a metre had been cut short by 3cm. Had I lived closer I would have returned it, but I'd made a special trip to the area.

Fantastic little piece of fabric heaven. Lots of fabric choice for all budgets and all the staff are always helpful and offer advice for anyone needing help, I love my trips to Harrogate to this shop which i never leave without something new. All the items below either a panel or a cushion/pillow are made using fabric / threads from Remnant House
