The Schools professional Shooting Instructors specialise in introducing people from a variety of backgrounds into the highly engaging sport of clay pigeon shooting. Our Young Guns Academy and Ladies Days offer the perfect introduction, ensuring that safety, etiquette and shooting skills are thoroughly learned in a safe and educational atmosphere.
Our practice facilities are ideal for individuals, as the Shooting School is equipped throughout with Claymate trap Controllers. The hi-tech design and ease of use allows any solo shooter to have complete freedom of the school without the need for someone to activate the trap for you. Please note that only cartridges purchased at the Shooting School may be used on the Ground.
Whether you are a beginner, novice, young or experienced clay or game shooter, we can tailor your lessons to suit your needs and requirements. We have a range of shooting school guns for clients to use and we specialise in taking youngsters and beginners from their first ever shot right through to being able to attend their first clay or game shoot.
We understand that Corporate hospitality can be expensive and difficult to measure it's success. It can also be very limiting if you run a golf or sailing type event as previous experience is often necessary so you only invite people who are experienced. Some events will also limit you because it only appeals to younger able bodied people such as circuit and off road racing and paint ball games.

I've been coming to Lains for nearly a decade now, just a few times a year but cc always enjoy every second.
The ground is very be well laid out, it has never been too busy and I can self trap - I shoot alone often for practice.
The other facilities are superb, the airgun ranges just seen to be getting better and better and the shop is perfect.
There is loads of space to relax in cafe and the car park has never been full.
Oh, totally reasonable prices for both clays and shells.
Go there and have some fun!

I went here for a group session and can't recommend it highly enough. The instructors Kevin and Charlie were great. Brilliant instructions, everyone hit a clay or two and they were a great laugh. Would recommend to anyone.

Popped on Friday afternoon for a quick go round the sporting, having never shot there before I was very pleasantly surprised by what a really nice shooting ground it was, very well laid out and very clean. I look forward to my next visit.

This is the first time I've been to a place like this...my brother took my children for their first day on the range.....from the start, the lady on the till was friendly and very informative...I was given my map a few boxes of ammo and off I we went. I liked the fact that there is a practice stand..an easy enough shoot that my boys used to gain their confidence and go over a few safety points. 3 hours we went shooting for....even though it was raining my boys loved it...I loved it.....you get left alone to your own accord, load, aim shoot and enjoy.....70 odd quid though....I'm not sure if this

I had the most amazing shooting lesson with Kevin yesterday, at last I have found someone to help with my confidence and all the technical stuff that I needed to put into place, before I could even dream of becoming a better shot. I am so looking forward to continuing with my new tutor, with the aim of being much more capable next shooting season. Thank you Kevin and Lains Shooting School.

Great clay ground suiting novices or game shots looking to prepare for the new season alike. Really friendly staff and a good clubhouse for pre and/or post shoot bacon baps and cuppa. I've got around 10 clay grounds within an hours drive and this is my go to ground for relaxed practice.

Three visits prior to Christmas.to try out ranges and its new air rifle for fifty years.compared to other ranges very reasonable pricing.nice clubhouse and friendly staff.thoroughly enjoyed visits .big bonus open for 6 days .all day.my only problem it's a 78 mile round trip.wish it was much closer so could visit two or three times a week ,weather permitting.this country needs many more such ranges especially of this ilk.a lot of nearer ranges only open for a few hours on Saturday or Sunday mornings, cost considerably more and require prior booking.when I was in my late teens we could with reason

A most enjoyable day.
Very helpful and friendly staff made to feel very welcome.
Traps to suit every shooter.
Would of preferred to of had the option of using my own cartridges apart from that will differently recommend Lains to my shooting friends.
