Services
Tarff Valley Agricultural Co-operative Society Ltd was instituted in 1903 by Mr Walter Montgomerie Neilson of Queenshill, Ringford. As the local laird, he saw financial advantages for his tenant-farmers in forming a co-operative to buy supplies of coal and lime, to be delivered by rail to Tarff Station on the Castle Douglas - Kirkcudbright branch line.

Tarff is able to offer a wide range of fertilisers; from straight nitrogen, phosphorus and potash to compound and blended 'added-value' fertilisers. The added-value grades can include materials such as micro nutrients, and trace elements such as cobalt and selenium. We are able to provide products that include sulphur and sodium, as well as those incorporating fertiliser enhancers, such as Avail.
Benefitting from a dedicated team of experts, cereals form a substantial part of Tarff's business with thousands of tonnes bought and sold each year. Tarff trades in all cereal groups and many of these are used in our own specially created blends. Tarff is able to offer whole grain cereals as well as rolled/bruised, ground or caustic treated.
At Tarff we pride ourselves on a range of 'no-nonsense', high quality blends for every occasion and dietary requirement. Whether you are feeding high yielding dairy cows, suckler cows, bull beef, calves, sheep or lambs, Tarff has a blend to suit your particular needs.
Blends are created to ensure your animals are attaining the correct dietary intakes and our in-house Nutritionist is on hand to guide and advise on any specific requests that you may have.Our blends comprise the highest quality raw materials and are blended on our own premises. Blends are available for delivery in bulk loads, either tipped or blown, from a minimum of 3 tonnes to full artic loads.
