The Pianology Workshop is a piano tuner's workshop. Balancing time between a busy tuning schedule and restoring pianos, means that clearly, the workshop is not about selling lots of pianos as quickly as possible but rather about selling to pianists who care about the quality of their pianos. The pianos offered for sale at the Pianology Workshop will have undergone careful scrutiny and repair.
There was a time pianos were tuned 2, 3 or even 4 times a year. Modern pianos might seem more stable, but even they should be tuned every 6 months - certainly not left untuned for more than a year! Pianos have personalities! They like being tuned regularly. You might suffer from ear ache when your piano is out of tune, but think of your poor, suffering piano!
The Holburne Museum is pleased to be using the friendly and professional services of Steve Burden in tuning and maintaining this piano. As he has an impressive depth of piano-knowledge, we are confident that the care and maintenance of this wonderful piano is in a safe pair of hands. Since its arrival at the Museum in 1977 the piano has delighted many audiences during countless concerts.
