The continuing complexity of modern living has made Wills and Estate Planning more important than. If you have children you will want to ensure they are well looked after if both parents die while they are young. In the UK the majority of couples own their property as Joint Tenants - this means that regardless of what your Will says, your part of the property will.

Divorces, Civil partnerships and second marriages are all too common and consequently your estate should be protected to ensure it gets to your loved ones when its their turn to inherit. Estate valuations are often larger than expected, due mainly to increasing house prices and decreasing mortgages.
If you have children you will want to ensure they are well looked after if both parents die while they are young. Too much money at a young age can get wasted. You can select Guardians to look after your children and effectively act as their parent(s) and you can select Trustees to manage their assets until your children reach a suitable age to inherit.
In the UK the majority of couples own their property as Joint Tenants - this means that regardless of what your Will says, your part of the property will automatically pass to the surviving owner of that property. For most people this seems fine because the survivor is going to give it to the kids right?
A trust is a way of getting an asset or assets from one party to another, often with a set of guidelines to the trustees (those who control the trust) on how the assets within the trust should be used and when and how the ultimate beneficiaries receive those assets. For example a couple may have 300K to leave equally to their 2 children.

Having just spoken to Chris regarding the writing of a new will, putting our house in trust and setting up POA for my husband and myself, we were really comforted and very pleased in the way he explained everything so we could understand things easily. My daughter and son in law recommended Chris to us and we have now recommended him to our son and my brother.

As a single mum I wanted something put in place for my children for peace of mind. I suffer with severe anxiety and was worrying so much about the process of doing a will having never done one before and not knowing what to expect. the gentleman that I spoke to, Gary, was so lovely! made me feel at ease straight away when he rang to book an appointment, he explained clearly what we would be going through, what info I needed etc, he was very patient, very understanding, no judgment made what so ever. He rang to rearrange my booking and was very apolgetic but kept to the new appointment and time

Can't speak highly enough, wanted a simple Will for myself and my partner, Jamie Shannon was fantastic in arranging this for me during lockdown and well worth the £145 paid. I recommended to my parents and they bought Wills too and have said the same and so on our experience, if you're looking at having your Wills written, you can't go wrong with Pattison James Associates.

We discovered PJA through a Groupon offer and it’s fair to say we weren’t sure what level of cover/ service/ product we were going to receive due to the discounted rate.
