We replaced the famous Harbour Bookshop in Dartmouth when it sadly closed in 2011. It had been started by Christopher Robin Milne in the 1950s. We keep a special 'Pooh Corner' and lots of Winnie the Pooh books to celebrate our connection. You can see photos of the original Pooh bear and A A and Christopher Milne in the shop.
We stock the book of the recent film, Goodbye Christopher Robin, and lots more for Pooh fans. DARTMOUTH COMMUNITY BOOKSHOP is run as a not-for-profit community co-operative, professionally staffed by an experienced manager (Andrea Saunders was the manager in the Harbour Bookshop) with volunteer help.

Services
We believe that many people want to browse and buy books in a bookshop and we want our shop to become a focus for booklovers in the area and to help promote reading and literacy in all age groups. We stock a good selection of new books for adults and children of all ages. To browse, order and buy our books, come and see us.

My wife and daughter just popped in to buy a few books for our local school.
Unfortunately, the lady behind the counter was so pretentious and condescending they walked out. Yes, my daughter was eating an ice cream, but my wife assured her our daughter’s hands were clean.
Perhaps your staff should be employed because they actually care about the cause rather than simply being there so they can tell all their friends at dinner parties how they ‘give back to the community’

Most amazing little bookshop. A joy to visit. run by friendly, helpful people. Always top of my list of places to visit in Dartmouth. I aways buy a book there, usually by Kate Ellis. Brilliant author with stories centred around Tradmouth!! Dartmouth Community Bookshop have a great selection of all sorts. Lots of children's books too at child height. The Internet is nothing like walking into a friendly bookshop where one can browse for ages picking up and choosing books. Love it here.
