Fortwilliam Golf Club
Fortwilliam Golf Club is located off the Antrim Road at Downview Avenue in the suburbs of North Belfast. It is situated in an area of natural beauty offering stunning views of a tranquil Cavehill to the north-west and the busy Belfast Lough to the east. Although not a long course, it provides a good test of golf as most holes have narrow tree-lined fairways and difficult-to-read greens.

It measures over 6000 yards, Par 70. The clubhouse has excellent bar and restaurant facilities with a vibrant social life.
Services
The golf course was sited on land between Fortwilliam Park and Parkmount. Play was only allowed between November and March because the owner required the ground for grazing and/or hay during the spring and summer. A Ladies branch was established right from the start although ladies were not permitted to play on Saturdays after 1pm.
Established in 1891, we take great pride in the warmth of our welcome to visitors whether you come to sample the course, the clubhouse cuisine or preferably both! Located just off the Antrim Road at Downview Avenue, Fortwilliam sits poised between the beauty of the wooded slopes of the Cave Hill to the west and the dramatic sweep of Belfast Lough to the east.
The Council of Fortwilliam Golf Club is very much aware that our members are the lifeblood of our development and growth and we are constantly striving to improve every aspect of the club. Quite simply there is too much on the site to mention it all here so please browse through at your leisure and enjoy.
The location of Fortwilliam Golf Club gives members and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy convivial dining and bar facilities in a setting which is scenically second to none. From the picture windows of our lounge areas, located on the first floor, we boast a sweep of panoramic views that stretch from the Cave Hill and Napoleon's Nose across the golf course to the entire span of Belfast Lough, encompassing the full sweep of the Co.
The offer also entitles new members to 12.5% off drinks and 5% off food. Note: In addition to the Annual Subscription:Male members pay an annual GUI levy and lady members pay an annual ILGU levy. All golfing members are also required to take out golf insurance. Each June, a 100 Smartcard Levy is also collected from all golfing members (except Juniors).

Played 18 on Thursday 2 December. Warm welcome in the pro shop and advised that the course was wet off the fairways and tee boxes not great. Course was a little heavy after all the rain, but both greens and tee boxes spot on. Great day out. We'll done Fortwillian
