I spent 4 years living in the south-west of France where I developed my curtain making business. To begin with, my clients were a mixture of both French and English, mainly in the Hautes-Pyrenees region of France. My interest in sewing started at 10 years old when my mother taught me to sew on an old Bernina sewing machine.
This early interest developed into making simple clothes and more elaborate designs including the odd wedding dress! Over the years this gravitated to interior design and then window treatments in particular. When it came to my own home I could never find what I wanted in the shops. When I did see something I liked, I was often disappointed by the quality of the workmanship.
