Richard Lawson Pianos have been involved in the piano trade for four decades, and we bring a wealth of expertise to the piano buying process. This experience ranges from the technical side of piano refurbishment and set up, to a deep understanding of how that effects the nuances of sound and the responsiveness of touch where the pianist is concerned.
Now that the most recent lockdown has ended, we are pleased to announce that Richard Lawson Pianos is fully reopen again! That means that you can once again visit our magnificent showroom and view our vast selection of instruments. We have full social-distancing measures in place for everyone's safety, and have hand-washing and sanitizing facilities in-store.
When a master craftsman produces his finest work, it is not unusual that he should name it after himself. After all, this is the culmination of all his efforts, that for which he hopes to be remembered. Shigeru Kawai was no exception. Son of a master piano builder (and apprentice of Torakusu Yamaha) Koichi Kawai, Shigeru believed in his father's principle of making every piece the best it could possibly be.
The cost of a good quality piano means that for some, it's not immediately possible to buy an instrument. Perhaps you or your child want to begin having lessons but are not yet sure whether the initial enthusiasm will hold out long term, and you are therefore reluctant to make a big purchase. If you are not yet ready to commit to buying a piano, renting one might be a good solution.

Richard Lawson Pianos came highly recommended to us and Richard didn't disappoint. From our initial visit to the showroom through to delivery and on-going service, he was so helpful and informative. The showroom is incredible and well worth a visit to try before you buy. We did our research and explored a number of other piano stockists but his service, product and costs were the best we found. The leather duet stool that I bought is astonishly good value and is a great looking piece of furniture. It is sturdy and the storage space under each of the two hinged seats is sufficient for a number of music books. Some retailers try to justify eye-watering prices for factory assembled stools. In my view, this self assembly stool will remain rigid and I am very pleased with my purchase.
I should also mention the excellent customer service that I received. The general packaging was excellent but one of the legs was "marked" due to a factory packaging error. Richard returned my phone call within

We have been looking for a refurbished Yamaha upright piano for a while and have been visiting several stores. In the end we went for Richard Lawson due to its range of choices and the professionalism from the sales manager Colin. The showroom at Richard Lawson is impressive! Every piano being new or refurbished is in excellent condition and the layout is structured. Colin is very professional and friendly when we were in the showroom. Excellent product and great service!!! The staffs are very friendly and professional. And the email response is speedy. The piano came much quicker than I expect.
