David's Music are looking for a part-time sales assistant to join our team. A rare and exciting opportunity to work in an independent record shop in the heart of the community. We're looking for someone who is as passionate about music as we are, engaged in current releases and hungry to learn more.

Liz owns David's along with Paul, and manages the new and busy cafe. She enjoys working with the friendly cafe team, and making sure the cafe provides the very best locally sourced fresh food, and wonderful rich coffees.

I’m a big advocate of online shopping but there’s nothing that comes close to going into a traditional bookshop which has very knowledgeable staff which are extremely attentive. The vast range of books from used to the latest releases is amazing in this independent store. The store has been at the heat of the local community for many years and will continue to be for many years to come.

Amazing book shop that isn't just a book shop. I pick up Pokemon cards, League Battle Decks and TCG accessories from here and I also buy Citadel paints and models too. Prices for Pokemon TCG are slightly over the normal price but I put that down to it being a small independent shop. I would like it if they stocked Vallejo paints.

Oh my goodness. What an absolute gem! You could get lost in here - for days, never mind hours. Where to start, it’s everything a good bookshop should be: a treasure trove, hidden nooks and crannies, places to browse, read with your kids, rekindle a love of anything book related, organised but in a way that draws you in ever deeper and through a constantly changing stream of genre.
But David’s bookshop is on a whole other level: signed copies from notable authors in using Steven Fry and Anthony Horowitz. Lots and lots of second hand books: children’s books from my childhood, recent copies

David's really is special. It's not unusual for me to mention I'm from Letchworth to someone and they'll say, 'Oh, I love the bookshop there'. Although they do great community events, make excellent coffee, and sell a solid range of music and boardgames, the second-hand section upstairs is probably my favourite thing about the place.

Not great. More atmosphere on the moon. Staff have zero personality. More like a library that a record shop! Bookshop ok! Cafe is the best bit.

One of my favourite independent bookshops! decent secondhand offering - out front, upstairs, and in the back - as well as plenty new books. The staff are all wonderful and helpful, they run events for all ages, and their music and cafe sections (cafe not currently open) are just a treat.

If you can judge a town by its bookshop, this one is doing great ❤️ Lovely selection of wonderful books and I love that they promote second hand book circulation as well!

Phenomenal service. They had just the gift I was looking for and even offered to gift wrap it - which was very elegantly done. Wonderful to find an independent bookshop. Fascinating collection of second hand books.

Condescending assistant.
I asked an assistant if I could take the shrink wrapping of a book so I could see inside. Strangely, she did not want to allow me to take off the wrapping. I explained that I could not possibly buy the book unless I was able to look inside and see the contents. She then became very condescending and rude. The cashier then explained that the assistant was the girlfriend of the manager - I really can't see the relevance of this.
In a bookshop that is held in such high regard in the community, I was staggered at the attitude of the staff and I hope this was a one-off experience
