SkateHut was established in 2007 by Mark Johansen-Berg following a family holiday to Florida with his wife and three sons. When his eldest son spotted a pair of Heelys in one of the theme parks, he just had to have a pair! Upon arriving back to the UK, they realised that Heelys were nowhere to be seen.
Mark and his family decided to do something about it. We've grown a lot since then. We now stock skateboards, scooters, skates, bikes, clothing, footwear and just about anything else skate related! SkateHut now consists of three warehouses and three stores - SkateHut Halesowen, SkateHut Corby (Adrenaline Alley), and the newest addition, SkateHut Manchester, located in Graystone Action Sports Academy.

Due to issues with new Brexit legislation and delays at the borders, we are currently only able to deliver into Ireland within the EU. All other destinations outside the EU are operating as normal. We are working closely with our delivery partners to ensure we are able to reinstate services to other countries as soon as we can.

Ordered ice skates 16th Dec. Was told they would be shipped 18th. Had to chase Skatehut as still no delivery or news by 6th Jan and took a while to get through on phone. Waited for them to contact suppliers , just to be informed supplier had none in stock. My order was £200 and the overall service wasn't great. They did offer me a tenner off my order......... but I was going to have to even wait longer for the skates to come. Decided to cancel and go elsewhere.

20 minutes I've been on hold to get through to someone. Every 5mins I get a ringing tone which would suggest I'm next in the queue for my call to be answered to only then be placed back on hold. I ordered an item which has not been delivered by their chosen delivery company. I sent an email through their online contact form explaining this I've had no response in the promised time frame. Now they don't answer the phones. Paid money for goods I've not received and I can't contact anyone to help me 0 stars

Placed an order using a gift code but had the full cost of the purchase taken from my bank account, contacted live chat to request a refund and was told it would be sorted out that day. Three days later I hadn't heard back so I reached out again and was told there was no note on record but they would sort it out for me. A week later still hadn't heard back or received a refund so I had to contact them again, but this email and further attempts at communication were completely ignored. Absolutely terrible customer service overall.

Ordered two sets of skates, both on next day delivery (paid extra for this service). The following day (when they were supposed to have been delivered I had a message saying they were due to arrive in store in 4 days time and they'd be in touch with info on when the skates would be delivered.
Have replied to the email asking for a call back, as I've tried calling numerous times only for it to bounce between ringing out and some repetitive music.

Amazing service! I was having an issue with my quad skates which I bought from Skatehut online and customer service suggested I take them into store. The toe stop was jammed inside the plate, the staff managed to remove it and replaced the faulty plate for free. I am so grateful! Didn't get the name of the guy who helped me but cannot thank him enough.

Left happy with my experience shopping here. The employees at the till, Andy and Jacob were exemplary in their customer service, both to myself and with others.
They spent plenty of time with myself (a complete beginner) to make sure I felt welcomed and also fully understood what I was getting myself in for. They also made very sensible recommendations on good safety equipment as well as a really nice complete board within my budget. Lots of helpful tips on maintenance work, modifications, training spots, and upcoming sales.

Spent twenty minutes waiting for my sons scooter to be dealt with- which it clearly wasn't then had to wait ten minutes to be told they could not dealt with it - very annoyed I then left the shop- only to find they had then sold my son new wheels for £20.00 - previous experience has been good - I will avoid in future really frustrated- how they treated us.

Great place, went to get some pads for my son for his skateboard. The guy who served me really put the effort in to try and make sure we had the size, made slightly harder as my son wasn't with us! But was reassured that if they didn't fit as long as we kept the receipt we could take them back and exchange for the right size. Couldn't have been more helpful.

I was going to mark down to one star, but on second thoughts, and exchange of e-mails changed my mind.
MOST IMPORTANT My recommendation would be, if you can, is visit the shop. Dealing with them online was a pain. The reaason i suggesting going to the shop, you can see what you are buying, and, yes, their prices are reasonable.
They tell me that their website was changed as from October 2011, and I presume it still experiencing teething problems.
