Shooting is a skillful and exciting sport which is rapidly gaining popularity in the UK. Whether you have never shot before, or you are an experienced shooter, we arrange sessions to suit your individual requirement. We provide various options including taster sessions, one to one tuition, stag and hen parties, wedding parties, shoot and dine packages, off site shoots at your own venue and large corporate group bookings.
We offer our activities all over the North West, our main clay shooting sites are based at Crook, Lythe Valley and Kirby Lonsdale, we also have many other hotel locations and private locations based all over the Lake District, Cumbria.

Services
We offer family and group sessions for 2 to 60 people. We suggest a guide age range of 12 to 90 for participants but have had older and younger shooters. Your group can be all beginners, experienced or mixed ability. Vouchers are available which make great gifts. Shoot and dine packages are available at our main clay shooting site.
For a private tuition session we will spend a lot longer with you, we will asses your shooting and give you specific tuition on the areas we feel you could improve on, eg. If you are just getting into the sport this is an ideal way to get you shooting safely and with confidence so you can progress at your own pace.
Are you looking for a non alcohol fuelled activity, or something to fill in the time before the alcohol fuelled ones start? Shooting is a great way for your group to spend a morning or afternoon. We can make the session a taster or set up a more competitive session for those who like to keep a tally of scores.
Archery is a sport that requires little introduction. Archery historically has been used for hunting and combat but now a days we mainly use it for competitive sport and recreation. We have various challenges set up to challenge the complete beginner to the accomplished shot alike. Whether starting off learning how to shoot or perfecting your skills shooting at straw bosses you'll soon be ready to move onto the field archery session.
Treat someone to a fun day of shooting, archery or axe throwing with Michael Coates in The Wild Boar woodland. From 50 per person, minimum of 2 persons. Lunch, Afternoon Tea or dinner at a choice of venues booked for you (payment for food taken at the restaurant). We run our shoots in the private woodland at The Wild Boar Inn, Crook.

I had 1:1 clay shooting tuition with Steve, the other day. What a great experience. I haven't been shooting since Covid started up, so I was very rusty. He gave good advice and pointed out my faults, all while having good fun. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does. I just need to listen more haha.
I would highly recommend these guys regardless of your current ability. I hope to go again soon with some friends.

Had our session yesterday afternoon, it was incredibly easy to organise. Steve was very professional and entertaining, brought us through the first steps of clay pigeon shooting. He was incredibly motivating throughout the experience and was a great teachef. There was good consideration for covid restrrictions, we had mask on, hand gel and large number of ear protection available. The only feedback i could give is to expand the packages as we would have opted for more rounds given how much fun we were having.

Fantastic experience with excellent tuition for two complete novices from Steve. He made it really accessible and fun, and now I'm considering taking shooting up more often thanks to this introduction. Would say it is great value for money. We also did some axe throwing which was very addictive. Couldn't recommend more, make sure you use Michael Coates!

We wanted something a bit different to get our wedding day off to a cracking start!! We had a fabulous morning with Michael and his colleague, clay pigeon shooting and then axe throwing. Everyone in the group had a brilliant time and we have so many funny memories to look back on. We shall be doing this again. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

We came on a rainy miserable day and did not know what to expect. Steve looked after us so well, we had THE BEST morning, doing archery, shooting & axe throwing, each activity exceeding our expectations. Steve's personal tuition was just brilliant. My 81 yr old Dad even did all the activities & had such a lovely time. Thank you Steve. Highly recommend!

Steve and Mike were fantastic hosts, allowing me and my team to feel comfortable within minutes or arriving, atmosphere was fantastic and lots of clays shot thanks to their training! The competitive nature amongst the group developed as we turned our hands to axe throwing, with Steve and Mike providing us with expert advice as well as some great humour - a fantastic time all round, I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We took two teenagers and none of us had ever fired a gun before. Steve was an amazing instructor - calm, clear and full of encouragement. We were all consistently hitting clays by the end. Safety the no.1 priority and fully covid secure. Unbeatable day out
