The principle of physiotherapy is to get that injured area functioning properly and the pain will look after itself, however our chartered physiotherapists have a number of techniques they can use to treat the pain as well and make the rehabilitation process as comfortable as possible. We also identify the source of the problem and put a plan in place to prevent it from happening again.

When a muscle is been used or overused a lot of the time it may develop what is known as a trigger point. A trigger point is defined as a taut band within a muscle that on palpation will generate a local twitch response and causes a deep aching pain radiating from the region. These are commonly known as 'knots'.

I have attended around 20 sessions with Charles following a disc injury that left me in excruciating pain and unable to walk without assistance. Having now made a full recovery, I can say that Charles is an excellent professional with an impressively acute knowledge of the anatomy and body mechanics. He is able to precisely manipulate the body to achieve his goal ( reduce pain, improve mobility etc..) and I could always feel an improvement during and after my sessions. Charles is also great at explaining concepts simply and uses simple analogies to describe the condition/injury and how it is evolving

Highly recommended. I saw Charles as I had a trapped nerve in my neck which was causing me constant pain through my back and arm. Within a few sessions the problem was resolved and going forward I have been given some exercises and tips to help me avoid a recurrence.
Really excellent professional and friendly service.

I went to see Kevin after two excruciating bouts of sciatica – I could hardly walk. His confident, expert and thoughtful diagnoses fully explained why I was experiencing pain; his treatments helped me to recover; his recommendations for enjoyable and moderately demanding daily exercises have inspired me to keep myself fit and pain-free. And I got some great golf tips as well. Thoroughly recommended.

I had a "sport injury" and it affected me for 5 years. I had been every where and heard every theory. I saw Chiropractics, physios of all sort under the nhs. It took only two visits under the Spinal Phsyio and I was sorted. No theories, just a simple analysis and encoragement to hit the gym and work on the specific area of weakness and I was back to my original self. I wished I had found them 5 years ago. I definitely recomend them!

I have been using Kevin as my physio since pretty well the first week he opened - which must be going on over ten years now. He is exceptional. There are very few physios, in my rather long and painful experience, who have the holy triumvirate of: osteopathic, physio and trigger point needling (aka western acupuncture...) skills. Kevin knows how to use them all if you wish him to. He's like a miracle worker. I feel slightly ambivalent about posting a review as it might encourage others to go to see him and then I'm going to have difficulty getting an appointment. Ah well. Must be altruistic about

Mrs. MacLeod literally changed my life. Unlike pretty much every physio I'd encountered before, she took the time to listen and properly diagnose me, then give me the treatment I needed. I no longer walk with a cane, which is down to her, and I have a much better understanding of how to manage my ongoing condition. I would - and have! - recommend her whole-heartedly to anyone who needs good physiotherapy care.
