Providing specialist dementia care since 2001 has taught us a lot. We understand the difficulties you are facing and know that finding the most suitable care setting is not easy. We will try to minimise any stress the process involves, giving you the confidence to make the right decision, offering advice, tea, and tissues if needed.
Our website is deliberately simple, not too wordy, it hopefully will give you a flavour, of what we try to achieve. Our Inspection reports speak for themselves, before choosing any home please take the time to read them, don't be fooled by glossy websites! Living locally, we are involved in our business on a daily basis, and are extremely fortunate to be supported by experienced managers, and an excellent care team.

Services
Our aim has always been to improve the quality of life for everyone in our care. We recognise, that providing a specialist dementia setting is essential, mixing care categories within one home just does not work. Our homes have been adapted where possible to incorporate the latest thinking in dementia design.
Our team is our greatest asset, and we work hard to give each member of our amazing staff the opportunity to grow within their role. We give all our staff the chance to upskill and develop themselves through extensive training programmes. Due to this focus on the future, we don't require prior experience in several key roles.
Designed by us as a new home in 2012, it is the perfect combination of traditional home and dementia design. Set in an exclusive residential area, tucked under Weston woods on a hill overlooking the bay, Fig House is a private tranquil haven, with a feeling of country living yet being conveniently located in the town.
Residents have few restrictions within the home and are free to independently access the safe gardens at any time, which lead directly from all the ground floor sitting areas. The gardens are used whenever possible for walks, meals, gardening or to just enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Most importantly, we have carefully designed the numerous sitting/dining areas to cater for small groups of only four to six people.
The inspection reports, numerous relative letters and anonymous questionnaires we regularly send out to all visitors speak for themselves and are available on request. Our manager Debbie Knight and her team have created a lively, fun atmosphere, but there is also plenty of space for quiet contemplation.
