Here at S. Brown Engineering (Stockport) Ltd we have a compliment of CNC and conventional machinery offering the flexibility of large volume production to a one-off prototype. S. Brown Engineering has been based in Stockport for over 35 years Starting off in Meadow Mill and recently moving to new premises in Edgeley. The new unit was home to a successful sub contract machine shop called C & M Engineering and through retirement the workshop became available.
This was the ideal and natural move for our Stockport based Business to acquire an already established precision engineering company, allowing S. Brown Engineering ( Stockport ) to grow with an increased capacity whilst also allowing us to easily service clients in Manchester, Cheshire and further a field.

TURNING We can offer a wide range of turning capacity from very small diameter components to 250 mm dia billets with CNC, conventional turret and capstan lathes cutting all types of material from plastics, ferrous, non-ferrous and speciality materials.
MILLING Our milling capacity is growing in 2018 with the addition of CNC capabilities, all of our conventional machines have digital readouts for accuracy and repeatability of small to medium size batch work again cutting all types of material.BORING In our portfolio we have a very versatile and useful horizontal borer, again with a digital readout for accuracy, ideal for producing jigs and fixture and bespoke one offs.

Browns were happy to help with drilling the centres of two stainless bolts for my motorcycle resto'. Can't thank them enough for doing this job. Hopefully if needed, I can count on them again in the future.

Called in on spec for a very small lathe job to be done .. spoke to Norman who couldn’t have been more helpful, he arranged to have the parts made , contacted me when they were finished & the cost was more than fair / less than I expected. The whole team here are polite , welcoming professional & deliver excellent customer service.

First time I've used S. Brown Engineering and I cannot say enough good things about Norm whom dealt with me over the phone and by email.
My order was small but got dealt with professionally and timely, I was kept informed on progress and when my parts arrived (well packed) I was very impressed with the workmanship.
I would say in this day and age of faceless companies S. Brown are an exception, polite, professional and efficient to say the least.
