I am a professionally qualified and registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist providing psychotherapy and counselling to individuals and couples, and supervision and consultation to other professionals and trainees. I have specialist trainings and experience in the treatment of people who have experienced trauma, especially complex trauma.

Currently I work as the head of a general psychotherapy and counselling service and also as a psychotherapist for an organisation that provides psychological services to people who have experienced torture and organised violence. Additionally, I am a tutor at Human Development Scotland and I retain a private practice and GP referral service, in central Edinburgh, offering psychotherapy, counselling, supervision and consultancy.
Services
Therapy is helpful if you have been struggling with certain issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, self-harm, loss and bereavement, or relationship patterns. It is also helpful if you have difficulties around meaning, identity, gender and sexuality. However, therapy need not necessarily be about problems, as it also provides an opportunity for you to explore and to understand yourself better.
As a couple you may seek therapy because communication has become strained or has simply broken down between you. You may feel stuck in unhelpful and unhappy patterns of relating to each other; or you may be aware of feelings of dissatisfaction, a loss of intimacy or issues around sex in the relationship, and you would like to understand this.
