Furniture repairs can restore a loved piece of furniture often at a fraction of the cost of a replacement. Why put up with saggy seats, wobbly castors or pet scratches when our professional upholstery repairs can bring that much loved item back to life! Re-padding of arms, seats and back cushions, including fixed or loose cushions, with foam, dacron fibre, feather or traditional fillings.
As the Green movement continues to change how we run our homes, furniture reupholstery in the UK is experiencing something of a resurgence. Reupholstery has become fashionable again and not just in the grand old houses looking to maintain their antique furniture. I believe good quality furniture deserves to be given a new lease of life.
French Polishing is used as a general term for wood refinishing these days where protective finishes are applied to wood. A wood finish can protect wood from scratches, dirt, stains, moisture and wear. It can enhance the wood's natural beauty, colour, grain patterns and depth. French Polish or Shellac is one of many different types of finish that we can apply, quite often a lacquer may be more suitable for high wear items.
It is often possible to repair damage to existing leather furniture. If fabric is damaged invariably replacement matching fabric is required and this is not always available. Leather repairs, however, can be carried out in various ways either by restoring and refinishing the existing panel(s) or in severe cases of damage I can machine in replacement leather panel.
Leather colour loss can be the result of normal wear and tear. Leather repairs offer a solution to damage caused to the finish by dye transfer from non colourfast clothes where the colour of the leather is stained by the dye from new blue jeans for example or by spillages of chemicals such as nail varnish and nail varnish remover, ink or hair products such as hairspray.

Thanks to Dale, my 20 year old leather sofas look and feel like they're new. Way better than buying new ones. He restuffed the seats and the backs of 2 sofas and a chair. All done at home in a day - so no need to get sofas out to a workshop and no time left without furniture. Have already happily recommended him to my neighbours.

Have usedt London and Home Counties Upholstery Ltd(Dale) a few time now to effect repairs and clean/ refurbish the leather upholstery in our Mecedes and Cadillacs on each occasion the quality of the work has been of the highest standards, The repairs to tears in the leather seat of one of the Cadillacs have been invisible.
