Services
Homestay - Live in a British homestay during your time in Exeter. Meals will be provided by your hosts and you can practice your English outside of school in a relaxed and informal environment. Hosts can be a single person living on their own with or without children or hosts married with or without children.
The school is in the city centre with easy access to all the shops, bars and restaurants as well as the bus and train stations. We are located above Cafe Nero (coffee shop) and next door to Subway (sandwich shop) and across the road is the Guildhall shopping centre with many shops and restaurants. School offers personal and highly professional approach.
At STAR Exeter, teaching is based on communicative principles. Teachers take account of students' backgrounds, needs, learning styles, strengths and weaknesses. A variety of approaches are employed, ranging from more formal structured activities to freer task-based exercises. A big proportion of class time is devoted to genuine communication.
STAR Exeter will help you every step of the way in planning your stay with us, making everything simple! Within 1 working day you will receive a confirmation letter and invoice confirming your booking. If you have booked accommodation and/or a transfer through STAR Exeter, we will send you all the details.
General English courses are the most popular courses that we offer, and aim to develop our students' skills in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. We offer morning only classes, or a combination of morning and afternoon classes. An initial placement test is followed by an oral test on your first day to help us decide the best class for the student.

Today marks my last day as a part of Star Exeter it was an unforgettable experience to study with such a great team. I may leave Star Exeter now, but a part of me will always remain here. Our time hosting our first student for STAR Exeter comes to an end today 😢 as our student returns home.
I just wanted to say a massive thanks to Leanne and Caz for allowing us to host, we've enjoyed every minute and we will be so sad to see our student leave. The support you two have given to us, as hosts, and to him, has been world class.… Thankyou!
I would highly recommend hosting for STAR! You won't regret it, we have learnt so much. My student tells me he has been really pleased with his studies here too and hopes to return to the UK next year to sit a degree at university!

I studied there for a month, where I was able to developer my English speaking ability really well. The teachers are great and friendly, the staff are supporting, and I felt like we are one family. I have been with Star Exeter for 4 months.
In the first two months, my teachers were Francesca and Darren.
Francesca is the best English teacher I have ever had. She is well organized, moreover, she played some really intelligent games, in the sense that each game has a specific learning purpose.
Daren is really good too, his lessons are active and he can keep you awake when you are doing boring stuff, like grammar.
In the second two months, I took the IELTS preparation course and my teacher was Ellie and she can teach you some "trick" for the IELTS exam.
On the other hand, the staff is super

I have been studying at Star Exeter for 9 months - it's located in the city centre, convenient for any kind of transportation and next to the library if you want to borrow extra references and spend time in there for extra study. Friendly teachers and office staff as well willing to help you not just for what is related to your studies, but any matters you have. Moreover, value for money needs to be mentioned in my opinion as it was the best price I could find in city when I was doing my research.
Would I recommend Star Exeter? Absolutely yes!
