J&B Recycling's original history started many years earlier in the 1970's, from the beaches of Seaton Carew when the parent company founded by Alan Jackson provided the fuel that powered many power stations and steel works throughout the UK. Trading Solid Fuels from Baltic Street in Hartlepool this site went on to become the first of the four sites of J&B Recycling, that established in 1998.
J&B can provide a food waste only collection whereby it is collected separately from general or mixed waste. It can then be processed into good quality soil improver or fertiliser and used to generate electricity that is fed back into the national grid. We can collect presorted materials such as metals, plastics and cardboard.
We turn the household waste from over 1 million homes into the highest quality recycled products. We do this all year round, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Now that's how you make a positive impact on the environment. Our Material Recycling Facilities (MRFs) utilise the most advanced sorting technology available, ensuring a 99% recycling rate, and some of the cleanest recycled product streams on the market.
