Welcome to Tusker House care home, family owned and run since 1965, we provide care for those who because of their dementia are unable to continue to care for themselves. The journey into residential care can be a difficult one, not only for the individual but also for their relatives/friend. There are many challenging decisions to make.
We know how difficult it is to make 'the' decision about moving into residential care, so we make every effort to help you make that choice. We start by inviting you to visit our home. We then make a full assessment of your relative/friend, to ensure that we are the right care home for them and can meet their needs.

My Aunt moved in to Tusker House in January 2021, when it was no longer safe for her to live alone.
Tusker House had not had any covid infections as they had independently taken decisive action, and closed their doors well before government restrictions took effect.
It was very difficult not to be able to see how Aunt was living. Having said this, her mood, and even her cognition, were markedly improved during the time she was there.
We were able to spend her final 4 days with her and witness the exemplary care she received. The carers were truly caring and proactive, attended to all her comfort

I have worked for tusker house for many years.
I have experienced nothing but great love and care from all staff at Tusker house. The staff at Tusker House go far and beyond to make sure that life for all residents is the best care that way could receive. There is great potential in Tusker House, enabling all residents to engage in the great activities that staff provide, the outings in the warm weather that they can enjoy... the Garden that has been made especially for them. I would have no problem encouraging Tusker House to any person that needs personal care. Definitely a 5 star rating for

They looked both after my Nan and grandad and I couldn’t be more happier with the staff and care they both received. I know my sister already left a comment but would like to express my own gratitude for the care that was provided to both my nan and grandad and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the home to any of my friends looking for somewhere to provide the end of life care for there loved ones. Of which both my grand parents received. thank you Tusker house for the great care.

My mum passed away after almost 5 happy years in Tusker House. She was really well cared for and her death was one to be envious of: calm, peaceful supported by people who knew her so well. Surrounded with her Beatles memorabilia and music playing in her own room, not alone and not suffering. We are incredibly grateful to the team of staff who made mum's life worth living again after 20 years of decline. I leave it to my mum's own words "I am so lucky to be here". She truly was.
