The Piano Shop Kent is just south of Tunbridge Wells on the A26 and has a fantastic selection of pianos at all levels, both upright and grand, new and restored. There are many restored Yamahas and a wide range of other great makes, such as Bechstein and Steinway, as well as digital pianos. We also have a workshop and offer restoration.
Having a good piano to play and practise on is vital to the enjoyment of making music and to progress as a musician. Some think that an old piano bought as a 'beginner instrument' that perhaps 'needs tuning' will be good enough for them or their child to learn on. But the reality is that a piano with an uneven touch, poor tone or perhaps even loose tuning pins, will discourage learning and limit enjoyment.

We had a fantastic experience at The Piano Shop, first browsing and trying out a few of the upright pianos... then purchasing and having one delivered! While we were in the shop (with our 2yr. old and 4yr. old boys), Nicky was very patient to play several of them for us to compare. We really appreciated all of her time talking us through the different options and Nigel was also very helpful explaining the financing options and sorting our (very prompt!) delivery. What an absolutely wonderful business, we look forward to upgrading as return-customers in the coming years!

It was a fantastic and wonderful recording experience at The Piano Shop for ABRSM exam. Nigel is so helpful to arrange the venue and provide assistance. The encounter with the piano shop kent is really a seredipity for us. We were looking for a Steinway and accidently got to know from a friend that this shop had a rebuilt Steinway O model, so we made the contact. Nigel sounded very friendly and professional on the phone, giving me a lot of details before our visit. On the day of the visit, we were impressed by the look and sound of the piano. The touch was brilliant, and the sound bright and rich at the same time. Although it wasn't new, it pretty much matched everything I would have expected from a new Steinway, with a much smaller price tag.

We bought our first piano from The Piano Shop when we started piano lessons for my 8yr old daughter. I was very pleased with Nigel’s professionalism and advice. I liked that he played an accompaniment along with her as she tested some of the pianos in the shop. And when she found the one she liked, he talked her through it and made it all the more exciting for both of us! The piano was delivered on time and with great care. Thank you, Nigel!

Had a great experience with Nigel @ The Piano Shop Kent. Our daughter was trying out piano, and Nigel was able to give us great advice about the type and quality of instrument we should get, as well as having a comprehensive selection available in his showroom.
We initially rented the piano while our daughter decided if it was for her, before buying it after the bug had well and truly bitten :-). The team that brought the piano and installed it were great - thorough, courteous, professional, and took great care with the instrument.
All in all, a great experience and can definitely recommend them
