Services
Port Edgar Watersports CIC is the largest watersports and activity centre in Scotland. From sailing to powerboating, from beginners to advanced we are here to help you get out on the water. We are passionate about watersports and our dedicated staff ensure a warm welcome and a high quality experience for everyone.
Getting out on the water is a great way to exercise. The fresh air blasts away mental cobwebs, at the same time as keeping you fit. You can learn (or rediscover) sailing, powerboating or kayaking at any age, and they're sports that can span the generations. Give your kids a zest for the outdoors. Sailing, kayaking and powerboating are a fun way to get out in the fresh air, and we offer watersports coaching and courses for children aged 8 upwards.
The waters around Edinburgh and Fife are full of opportunities for discovering new activities and developing your skills. At Port Edgar Watersports we offer a wide range of sailing and power boating courses from beginner right through to advanced and instructor level. We also run a variety of paddlesports courses including sea kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding.
Our range of adult dinghy sailing courses cover the complete basics through to racing and performance training. So whether you've never been in a dinghy before, or want to improve your spinnaker sailing, we have something that will suit you. Our courses follow the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) National Sailing Scheme, so there's a clear pathway of skills and courses to follow.
More spacious than dinghies, keelboats also feel more stable because of their fixed keel. And because they're sailed by a crew, you're out on the water with other people. If this sounds like your thing, check out our courses, or, if you already have some experience, join our Keelboat Club. All our courses follow the RYA (Royal Yacht Association) National Sailing Scheme for Keelboats so there's a clear pathway of skills and courses to follow.

Just docked my yacht here for the winter and it is good so far. Nice little marina with a good range of facilities. Washroom etc. Is spotless. There is a fair bit of wake on the pontoons, so need keep an eye on the sway of your mast, but nobody is next to me, so OK for now.

My friends and I did the windsurfing experience with Matt and we had a great time! Matt is very knowledgeable and friendly and he gave us a lot of time to practise. None of us has windsurfed before and we were all feeling much more confident by the end of the lesson. I would highly recommend!

Coaching was rather poor, didn't meet RYA standards. Feedback was limited and the course closure was disappointing. If booking ask for a more senior trainer.

Great instructors and staff and a great location too! Sea-kayaking and Keel Boat taster session with Octavio were great. Patient, calm and clear guidance with a sense of humour. We would happily sail again with him. The 4 for 3 Taster offer is very good value and a good encouragement for group of friends to try something new.

So many things to do here and with amazing views of all three bridges. Drinks and food with ample parking all close by and just a 5 minute walk away from the centre of South queensferry. Loads of trips and activities on offer and a few photo opportunities for wildlife as well as the views
