Formed in 1994, Minders Keepers Ltd. offers house and animal sitting services with great success to individuals and companies all over the U.K. We pride ourselves on our positive approach to meeting the needs of our clients with the utmost discretion, reliability and integrity. Security is an obvious concern for all of our customers and is an issue which we take very seriously - after all, it is in part what we are offering to provide.
The majority of our sitters are retired couples or individuals who house-sit almost as a hobby or interest. They are personally selected for their positive attitude, experience with animals and their ability to get on with people, as well as for their personal integrity and trustworthiness. They have to be mature and come from all manner of professional backgrounds from all parts of the U.K.
Sitters carry out house-sitting assignments for a variety of reasons, whether to "top up" their income or in order enjoy a different lifestyle: to see different parts of the country, meet new people and look after their pets. Our sitters are never under any obligation to accept any assignment offered to them.
Horses and other large animals, charges for long-term assignments, additional hours and specific duties on application. We ask clients to meet reasonable travel expenses - as a guide we suggest these are calculated at up to 45p per mile, but no greater than 45 for a round trip, public transport at cost.
What if there is a problem? Our sitters are used to being in other peoples' homes and looking after them. They are people who are practical by nature and able to cope with most domestic problems as sensibly as you would yourself.
It is always advisable to clarify issues relating to the calling-out of vets, plumbers, etc. beforehand and useful to leave telephone numbers of local tradesmen for use in emergency, as the sitter will effectively take your place in making decisions about repairs etc.The sitters also have recourse to calling H.Q. for 24-hour back-up and advice if required.
