We invite you to relax and enjoy the distinctive flavours of India in the only UK Indian Restaurant set upon a cliff top with sea views. Take a seat in our conservatory with magnificent sea views while our finest chefs combine to create the most traditional Indian dishes from all corners of India. With an extensive vegetarian and vegan selection, we can cater for any taste.

Maharajah is the first, longest running and only real Indian restaurant in Newquay if not in Cornwall. The management and the staff would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for being part of this big success for the last 36 years and hopefully for many more years to come!
Services
Many of us are familiar with India's cuisine and love the herbs & spices used to flavour the food. Here we will take a look at some of the herbs & spices from India used by our chefs at the Maharajah Restaurant, such as cardamom, fennel and turmeric as well as the spice blends of curry and garam masala.
Indian cuisine is as rich and diverse as her people. The spectrum of Indian cuisine can be said to lie between two dietary extremes: vegetarianism and meat-eating. The food available in India is as diverse as its culture, its racial structure, geography and climate. The essence of good Indian cooking revolves around the appropriate use of aromatic spices.
To complement a superb meal at The Maharajah Restaurant, make your selection from our excellent range of quality imported wines and champagne. The wines offered reflect our commitment to high standards and an extraordinary dining experience. In creating this list we have chosen wines, which not only reflect both current and traditional tastes but also those which uniquely complement our menu.
Here you will find various internal and external photos of the Maharajah Indian Restaurant showcasing our premises as well as the Maharajah Chef's and Restaurant Staff. There is also a small gallery of images from the local area in Newquay and to the right a short movie showing the interior with views from the Maharajah Indian Restaurant.

Excellent food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Service was friendly and professional; going as far as to adding extra rice to leftovers for lunch the next day. Ambiance is just a bit stale, but would definitely recommend to others and go back.

Maharajah has served the best curries in Cape Town for over 40 years, and we've never once been disappointed over all that time!

One of the best Indian restaurants that we’ve been. Food was out of this world and we couldn’t wish for a better waiter. If this restaurant openend a place in The Netherlands, we’ll stop by every week!

Best Indian food I've eaten since I returned from the Middle East a couple of years ago. Outstanding paneer, even better dal makhni, and an absolutely spectacular aloo jeera that was all depth and layers of flavour. Naan bread also superb. Our server predicted that we would be back. He was right.

Glorious authentic Indian food with soul! After living in the Middle East for 5 years, we prepared ourselves to never taste authentic Indian food. What a great find and experience, thank you! We will be back!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The atmosphere is great - nice decor and very relaxing, with a beautiful view of Table Mountain in the background. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Our chili bites were perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), we had a spirited argument over whether her prawn curry or my lamb was more delicious, and the dessert of vermicelli was perfect.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely return!

Great, friendly service and delicious Indian cuisine that will most certainly make you go back for more! The lamb biryani and butter chicken dishes were out of this world! Not a very kid friendly restaurant, but nevertheless a fantastic place to enjoy a family meal.
