Traditional "French Polishing" is undertaken to restore your precious item to its former condition using the finest shellac button polish.

John has recently restored our beloved oak display coffee table, not a particularly old / vintage table at approx 30years, however it had been subjected to numerous candle surface burns in that time and in need of some TLC.

After my nephews attempt at table polishing (after his impromptu late night party) and the dog's use as a skating ring my Goodwin and Tichmarsh oak table was looking decidedly worse for wear....After John's masterful attention it is now looking better than when new.....good to have it home to enjoy and treasure for many more years to come.....

John's craftsmanship is faultless. He has restored our treasured Victorian mahogany hall stand to its former glory. He then tackled the restoration of our Victorian 10' oak table, which required making new leaves to match the original. The results of both are absolutely stunning and we are delighted.

I had a treasured family dining table which was in need of some care and attention, so I contacted John and it was the best thing I could of done - what an absolute craftsman and total gentleman he is! He has transformed my table after only a couple of weeks into something of beauty, highlighting the fabulous grain in the wood which will be cherished for years to come. John kindly agreed to even email some pictures of the whole process to me so I could send them on to my family. John has just restored an Edwardian Bureau for me that had belonged to my grandfather and was a treasured possession of my fathers. Due to domestic circumstances this bureau had languished in our garage for some years and was in a very poor state of repair, some would have consigned it to the tip.
The job that John has done on this cabinet is absolutely fantastic, it looks brand new and everyone who has seen it cannot believe it is the same piece of furniture. John is a fantastic craftsman as well as being a lovely man. I cannot thank him enough for the job he has done or praise his work highly

John is a superb restorer / craftsman.He has recently restored for me, the casing of a long case clock made in 1780. What a superb job he has made of it. In addition to this he has over the years restored other items for family members, all to the same high professional standards. There is no better craftsman / restorer in this country. I have no hesitation in recommending him to any one.
