Better Hearing Limited, trading as Better Hearing Clinic was founded in 2016. Bernard and his 2 Registered Hearing Aid Audiologists have over 25 years of experience between them. Providing professional care and exceptional service, with a genuine and empathic approach is what we are about. Needing a hearing aid can be sensitive subject for some people, which requires a sensitive patient-centred approach.
Everyone is different and our hearing is normal for us. How we feel about our hearing does not always replicate how those we love and communicate with see it. This can lead to disagreement and some concerns. Understanding how you feel about your hearing is extremely important. We understand this and will help you and your loved ones understand more about the way you hear and how it affects your communication.
Our hearing health check appointments gives us an opportunity to evaluate your general hearing health and agree a course of action that is right for you. Besides recording a medical history and taking note of any medications a close examination will be made of yours ears using video microscope camera.
A full hearing evaluation will give us a detailed understanding of your hearing, hearing health, hearing challenges and hearing needs. The hearing evaluation adds to the information we have from a Hearing Health Check. The hour long appointment is very thorough and we will share the results with you, in language that you can understand, be it at home or in clinic.
We take all aspects of your hearing health extremely seriously. Ear wax removal requires extreme care. A comprehensive assessment including video inspection of the condition of your ear canal is a prerequisite. A recommendation and explanation follows before we proceed with your informed consent.
Our preferred method is Micro Suction, which is the NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) recommended method of removing wax from a patients ear.We also use an electrical irrigation pump, which applies a gentle pulsed stream of water into your ear. This has replaced syringing as an alternative method where no perforation or other reasons are present which prevent its use safely.
