The George Ward Centre
As well as playing a key role in community life in Barwell, The George Ward Centre offers a wealth of facilities for visitors and business customers throughout the year. Whether you're looking for tourist or local events information, a coffee and a snack from our 'Poppin Coffee Shop' with free wifi internet access, hiring out of our multi purpose sports hall with changing facilities or use of one of our 4 fully equipped conference/meeting rooms, The George Ward centre has everything to offer you.
Services
As well as a great team of volunteers, the centre has a core team of staff that keeps the centre running smoothly and can be contacted with your enquiries. The board of trustees are elected persons that have over all responsibility for ensuring the centre keeps on the path intended. I have also been on the Barwell carnival committee before early retirement I was a matrimonial lawyer.

I love it. It has a fabulous cafe serving hot and cold drinks and crisps and chocolate. The atmosphere there is so friendly with people just dropping in for a chat. It is a very popular venue

George Ward Centre in Barwell is the home for U3A. I enjoy 'Singing for Fun' there which is held twice a month on a Tuesday. Great atmosphere. The Centre is spacious, clean and you can get refreshments too. Join U3A and see for yourself the various activities you can enjoy!

Coffee is nothing special but at a £1 a cup you can't expect big chain standard who charge over £3.
