Services
The practice manager is in charge of administration and organisation of the practice and is responsible for ensuring our service is always of the highest quality. Hold clinics for adult health checks, cervical smears, travel vaccines, asthma, hypertension, CHD, baby and diabetic clinics. They can perform practical procedures such as ear syringing and wound care and injections and can also give advice on health and dietary problems.
The practice is not open Bank Holidays. If you need to see or speak to a GP on a bank holiday, over the weekend or between the hours of 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday then please ring NHS 111 who will help you to access our STAR - Local extended GP hours service. Any GP in the practice can refer you to see the midwife and deal with any problems you may have both during and after your pregnancy. The midwife will provide your booking for delivery in line with local guidelines and discuss any particular requests you may have. She will also provide your ongoing antenatal care within the community.
Historically the practice resulted from the combination of four practices covering Normanby, Eston, Grangetown, South Bank and the whole of Middlesbrough. The Health Centre provides excellent, well equipped, purpose-built premises which offer a high quality surgery environment for both patients and practice team.
The practice operates an Advance Access system to assist our patients in gaining appointments with a health care professional. Should you like to pre-book an appointment please inform the receptionist and she will try to accommodate your preference. For all other appointments please ring on the day you wish to attend.

Unfortunately I've been with this practice since birth and for some unknown reason I'm still with them.
First issue I'd like to point out is the fact that reception staff at this practice clearly ignore the phone. Today for example, it has taken me a total of 79 attempts and 10 of those being sat on hold for the call to time out, in order to book an appointment, it is now 12:40 and I have being trying since 8:30am to contact the practice.
The next issue is simply a case of negligence towards the working role, considering those working within this practice or most likely either experienced/qualified

I've been treat horrendously, I heard one of them call me a daft cow, there always rude and said I cause trouble, it says 3 days for prescription so my carers do it 3 working days before as meds land on Monday and Tuesday they never accept then I have to pay again to get a carer here and all's they say if you don't like it leave, another thing I'd been around people with COVID so I rang up to ask should I cancel, they then sent a message saying that I cancelled and if I do again I won't get no medication so SHOULD I HAVE SAID NOUT??? It's a joke some if them don't know 7 days if started Monday

I have lived all over the country (and Europe) this is the worst surgery BY FAR. The reception is beyond help. They are rude/arrogant/unfriendly/unhelpful/lazy/unwilling/ the list is endless. If and i do mean if you manage to get an appointment before you keel over you will never see the same doctor twice!

Receptionists are rude and when consulting notes from screens are not reading them accurately.
A request for the simplest information is met with "..well yer'll after make an appointment then coz yer not listening to me"
I didn't need an appointment. I just wanted to know if a letter had been sent to the hospital requesting further information from consulting surgeon. That's all.
Not sure if telephone conversations are recorded, if they are the should be reviewed by surgery management.
If these receptionists worked in anyother sector they would be sacked for customer discourtesy and incompetence

My mother's GP. Doctors don't look at records and don't have the time to listen to patients. Always told no pre bookable appointments then told can only speak about the one issue when going in for an urgent appointment. Really poor practice. Policy's are detrimental to patients with real needs. Not holistic care providers.

Threw my mother out shes 72, for moving up the road, begged us to go with them when they moved from Normanby, staff are rude on phone and most of them need customer service courses, on how to speak to patients. No loyalty whatsoever. They actually had a meeting to see if she could of stayed, of course she wouldn't have, just do not go moving up the road they will throw you out.
We are now happy in a new surgery :) I tried to give it no stars but it would not let me!
