Services
Based in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, Corona was first established in 1999. In 2008 the current proprietors assumed ownership and their dedication to the Corona business is evident in the success it is today. Corona has successfully fulfilled contracts in industries as diverse as the manufacture and supply of plastic products to the medical field and to flooring businesses.
Plastic Injection Moulding came to the forefront during World War 2, when metal was in limited supply and it provided a durable resinous material, which can be moulded into almost anything. In the injection moulded plastics industry, packaging is the largest market, closely followed by consumables and electronics.
Plastic moulding products can be seen everywhere. Plastic Injection Moulding products include technology products, kitchen utensils, tools, toys, promotional products, recreational items, automotive parts, machinery components, even the computer keyboard and mouse you are using have been injection moulded.
Corona advocates that good design will save you money and the end product should exceed your expectations. Designing a complex plastic object requires much consideration - you should think carefully about its purpose, how it will interlock with other components and the amount of pressure it will sustain through normal use.
When using the word 'Tool' in injection moulding production we are referring to the actual moulds used by the Injection Moulding Machines. The tool is usually constructed from hardened steel, pre-hardened steel, aluminium, and/or beryllium-copper alloy. The use of these metals allows the molten plastic to be forced into every crevice and cavity, before solidifying and producing a precise and intricate end product.
