Sound Planning offers Acoustic Fence Consultancy services in accordance with WHO 2000; acoustic fencing could help to block and resolve community noise issues. As the World Health Organisation suggests, the control for environmental noise has been hampered by insufficient knowledge of its effects on humans and of exposure-response relationships, as well as a lack of defined criteria.
Noise can be a big problem for many people - it can be the reason for stress and unproductive operations. It might even be the cause of financial penalties to some businesses. BS 4142 assesses the potential impact of industrial/commercial noise on residential (noise-sensitive) dwellings.

It is established to assess several sources of noise - from a single AC unit to large installations like an oil refinery; it also evaluates the effects to the people nearby, along with the associated risks that can be minimised.Acoustic instruments have changed a lot since the last 1997 revision. The latest editions consider the advances in technology, which can help to improve the accuracy of final assessments.
As the code of practice for noise and vibration control on construction and open sites, BS 5228 refers to the need for the protection against noise and vibration of persons living and working in the vicinity of and those working on construction and open sites.

This British Standard endorses methods for noise and vibration control during construction operations, including procedures that aim to assist acoustic engineers, architects, contractors, site operatives, developers and planners.Recommended methods for controlling noise and vibration related to construction and open site operations, which produce significant noise levels.

Report
We are an air conditioning contractor and have used Sound Planning Ltd for many years to provide acoustic attenuation solutions for customers where air conditioning plant needs to be installed in noise sensitive areas. We have always received an excellent service which encompasses the initial acoustic survey, completion of report, liaison with local authority and design / installation of compliant attenuated enclosure. Would highly recommend.
