Services
Whether it is some helpful guidance or more detailed advice about your garden, we can help you. Garden Consultancy offers clients a combination of design input, maintenance help and planting suggestions. It is usually a visit which provides the opportunity for you to walk around with one of our team to discuss your project.
The Design process begins with an initial visit to discuss and exchange ideas. Once our team fully understand your requirements, you will receive an estimate for the necessary work. Upon your approval of the estimate we will draw up plans and sketches of the proposed design.

Once every element of your garden has been carefully considered, from construction and site management to ground preparation and planting schemes, we can set to work on the transformation.
We set out to achieve not only a beautiful garden, but also a healthy one and the foundations to this start with thorough ground preparation which provides a good growing environment for years to come. Marking-out forms the layout and basis for construction. We always use high quality construction materials, sourcing locally where appropriate.
Craftsman-built, traditional 'green' English oak pergolas and small garden buildings are a trademark of Roger's designs and have evolved in complete harmony with his traditional style of garden design. Regardless of garden size and shape, pergolas add form, structure and height into which planting can naturally flourish.
Where to start? When designing a garden, whether from scratch or working with an established garden, it is necessary to prioritise requirements. These are dictated usually by location, budget and practical considerations such as purpose: 'what is the garden to be used for?'

In his book Roger offers extensive advice on planning a traditional garden, from the importance of a strong supporting structure to the plant combinations you should use to fill out your luscious haven. He also proposes comprehensive improvements to existing gardens that may be tweaked to great effect, offering ways to keep design simple and cost-effective.

Report
Would most definitely recommend Roger Platts to anyone looking for anything a little bit out of the ordinary for the garden. We were in search of some screen hedging, and after a couple of visits and numerous conversations with Shane, we decided upon some Portuguese Laurel, which although was a little bit more expensive than we had wanted to pay, the plants had obviously been very well cared for during the summer months, and we took delivery about 4 weeks ago. A very big thank you to Shane for all his helpful advice, and of course all the other member of staff and delivery guy for all their assistance
