Whether your project involves remedial work in an older property, or preventative solutions for a new build or extension, we're ready to provide help and advice relating to all aspects of structural waterproofing and damp proofing. In recent years, the water table has been rising steadily in many areas.
This, coupled with the natural deterioration of buildings and drainage systems, is leading to moisture ingress in many structures, particularly cellars and basements. We have a wealth of experience in dealing with moisture ingress and, as independent waterproofing advisors, have extensive knowledge of systems available and the criteria set out in BS 8102 (2009).

Services
R & D Management (London) Ltd offers expert, impartial advice on all types of waterproofing or damp proofing issues. Established by Robin Sibley CSSW in 2000, we are an independent waterproofing and damp penetration surveying company. We work primarily in London and the Home Counties but have also undertaken projects across the UK and in Europe.
BS 8102 (2009) recommends that if a project involves ground structures, groundwater, soil gases and contaminants, then these should all be considered at the very earliest stages of the planning and design process. For new structures it is recommended that the structural design, overall weatherproofing design, waterproofing design and construction processes are considered together, as they are generally co-dependent.
BS 8102 (2009) recommends that once a waterproofing system has been proposed, an appropriate specialist should be consulted over the design of the system at an early stage in the project. This was one of the fundamental changes introduced to the Code of Practice when it was revised in 2009.
Other changes reflected recent trends such as an increase in the number of deep constructions in congested urban areas, an increase in the provision of residential basements and the development of new waterproofing systems and materials.Additionally the standard provides a more detailed assessment of the risks in below ground construction and how these might best be addressed.
