The company started trading in 1997, bringing together a unique blend of experience from diverse fields of freight forwarding and general shipping, worldwide. The founders, Linda Payne and Alan Biggs had worked together for a number years and had developed skills and experience in import and export freight forwarding, Customs clearance, exhibition forwarding and the rapidly developing world of motor vehicle imports, especially from Japan.

Penguin Shipping can arrange the collection and carriage of good from many diverse parts of the world and especially from China, USA, Canada and South Africa. Guidance on whether to try to arrange collection from certain countries or to contract with the seller on CIF or delivered terms of delivery.
Penguin Shipping has the greatest accumulation of technical knowledge of customs clearance of motor vehicles of any UK Customs clearance agent. Import customs clearance of Japanese import vehicles has been a major part of the business since its inception and historically the importation of vehicles from the USA and elsewhere in significant numbers.

My very 1st conversation was with a chap called James. His professional & human approach has made me ask for him everytime I ring (but happy to deal with anyone really as long as customers service & good manners are there). They are quick & professional with the Taxation/Clearance and compared to others fairly priced.

I was a returning customer who called yesterday and asked if a specific member of staff still worked there and if so, was she available to speak with. I was abruptly told that because I did not know that she had passed away they did not want my business. I called back thinking an unauthorized individual may have answered the phone but no, he did it again. Apparently if you do not know anything about this companies staff personal lives they no longer want your business. If this individual is not the owner, he is no doubt costing this company a considerable amount of business,
