Fettle Animation
Our animation director is Zane Whittingham. Zane has been an animator for 26 years, working across film, tv and computer games. Kath Shackleton is an animation producer and project manager with over 10 years' experience. We take on others to work with us on a project by project basis. We take commissions for all kinds of animation, from promotional films, to children's tv, to animated documentaries to animated music videos.

We have trusted production partners, and our team can write scripts, do concept artwork, wireframes, storyboards, sound recording, music composition, sound design and compositing, special effects and post production.
Services

We're excited to share our latest commission from Counterpoint Arts to make a new animation for Refugee Week. Latest news on how Survivors of the Holocaust, our graphic novel, based on our award winning animated series Children of the Holocaust is making waves around the world. Fettle is reaching out to new organisations looking to create short animations for promotion, training or sales.
Fettle Director Zane Whittingham created extraordinary animation and branding for Manchester Digital's Big Chip Awards 2017. We were been nominated for a Big Chip Award for our animation with financial management company Lifetime FM, Enterprising Barnsley, poet and broadcaster Ian McMillan and composer Matthew Oglesby.
Last year we flew out to New York as our award-winning Holocaust film was screened as part of the United Nations Holocaust Memorial commemorations in the US and at 18 centres around the world. Our graphic novel scooped The Judges' Choice Award for the 12 + category and the Overall Judges' Choice Award at the 2017 Schools Library Information Book Awards.

Yorkshire Adoption Agency - We approached Fettle to help us to personalise the National Adoption Campaign for our Agency. Finding a local Yorkshire based company was very important to us, given our own ethos is ‘Yorkshire Adopters for Yorkshire Children.’ Fettle understood this straight away. Working alongside them was such an exciting and fun… experience! They encouraged us to use our imaginations and understood our values of being child-focused, approachable and informative. They were very understanding of our tight timescales and worked tirelessly to produce the video for

We used Fettle Animation to put together 2 animated shorts, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of our company. Kath and the team produced 2 very different videos, each with a distinct and quirky style – which is what we wanted.
Working with Fettle was straight-forward and pleasant, but always professional. They have a strong desire to create the perfect end-product and this they achieved. We were very pleased with the results.

Fettle animation brought a real visual understanding to what we provided to be animated. The voices we recorded were of children expressing their concerns about a difficult issue and the team worked hard to really capture the essence of that in imaginative ways. The films have been a really useful tool in our work as they illustrate some complex ideas in a really engaging way.” Office of the Children’s Commissioner

Yorkshire-based financial management company Lifetime wanted an animated video to talk about ‘the big questions’ we all have in life, particularly to do with our finances. We met with a number of companies and Fettle Animation stood out. Kath and Zane were fantastic to work with – and together with Barnsley poet Ian McMillan (who provided the narrative) - came up with an animation, ‘Here is a man’, that we are extremely proud of. Fettle are full of passionate people with genuine talent.

Fantastic company to work with. The animation they created for our Smalltown Boy music video was perfect. Beautifully rendered with humour and pathos. Thank you!
