CPCL are the market leader in the design, manufacturing and supply of Robinia Playgrounds and Play equipment to the UK and Ireland. The Children's Playground Co. Ltd was founded in 2001 in Ireland and in 2002 in the UK to provide high quality play equipment of Robinia wood through the UK and Ireland.
The Robinia tree was introduced to France at the beginning of the 17th century by Jean Robin, the court gardener in Paris. Robinia was introduced because of its beauty to be used as ornamental trees. Their commercial properties were only discovered later.
Robinia is the only wood that is categorised in resistance class 1 (DIN EN 350-2) compared to oak 2 and pine 4. Hence robinia can be used for outdoor structures without protective treatment, making it a great alternative to tropical woods.It is very heavy and considerably more solid than oak. You can contribute to the conservation of the forest by shopping sensibly.

It is preferable that children's playgrounds would have features that bring children into contact with natural materials. Where possible we extend this philosophy to the safety surfaces while retaining compliance with EN1177 standards at all times. All surfaces are installed by our own 'in-house team'.
The Robinia wood being in Class resistance 1 / 2, harder than oak, very tough and highly rot resistant allows us to give a strong guarantee for our playground equipment. During this time we will replace, for free, any parts that break as a result of manufacturing or material defects. The timber does not need any preservative treatments and can be expected to last for decades even at the base where the soil and air meet.
We design playgrounds and manufacture play equipment ranging from conventional designs to the most bespoke and exciting themed playgrounds around, always bearing in mind the need to "Challenge the Child". We also supply and install safety surfacing and wherever appropriate, always advocating in favor of natural/sustainable materials.
