We are a community run shop, established in 2002 to sell fresh organic and locally grown produce. We aim to stock as much local produce as possible and support a wide range of producers from the local area who supply us with fantastic top quality food throughout the year from salad and strawberries to bread and honey.

We occasionally need items to be collected from Pembridge (Dunkerton's cider), Crickhowell (Apple Juice) and Tregaron (Gorwydd Caerffili). This saves us and our customers money by avoiding any delivery charges.
Services
To be a retail outlet for organic fresh foods and associated products to provide the opportunity for customers to make sustainable lifestyle choices. 2. To create opportunities for a local market for organically grown produce and to provide the means for sustainable employment in the community, ecologically and economically.
We aim to stock as much local produce as possible and support many growers and producers from the local area who supply us with a fantastic range of top quality food from salad and strawberries to bread and honey. Andy runs a small bakery in Llanidloes and supplies the shop with a range of sourdough breads, loaves, viennoiserie and other delicious baked goods using organic ingredients.
Contains potatoes, onions, carrots and usually 8 or more other items - courgettes, tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, celery, peppers, cucumber etc. We choose the best in-season veg for you, so you'll be getting not only the most tastiest, but also the best value veg each week. Furthermore, we compare the prices of our veg boxes to buying supermarket equivalent - you'd be surprised how much you could save.
Organic farming uses fewer pesticides. It works with the natural environment, protecting and encouraging wildlife whilst looking after the health of the soil. Instead of relying on chemicals, organic farmers work with nature to feed the soil and control pests. When you choose organic you're choosing natural food.
When you purchase at locally owned businesses rather than nationally owned, more money is kept in the community because locally-owned businesses often purchase from other local businesses, service providers and farms. We try and source as locally as possible too, meaning that even more of your money stays local.

Absolutely delicious bread here. A great place for walkers and cyclists to stock up on fuel for the day!

Some people say that Llanidloes is where the hippies go to retire. Well, that may be true, but some of them put in a few hours at the lovely Great Oak Foods. It's got fruit & veg, some of it home grown, a selection of cheeses, plants, artisan bread, spices, and a lot of other bits and pieces that you wouldn't necessarily expect. Highly recommended community resource in the heart of Mid Wales, long may they prosper.

Community run shop, staffed mostly by volunteers. Offers a mix of very local produce from small scale businesses, small holdings, and allotments/garden surplus. Also offers some bought in produce from further afield and even some mass produced products with an ethical theme. Very good quality seasonal fruit and veg (don't search for strawberries in January), excellent selection of local cheeses, superb local eggs, terrific organic and sulphite free wines which aren't available anywhere else locally, and the best place to buy fresh artisan bread (it sells out quick though). Prices are mid to high
