James Walker started his career as an Apprentice Joiner in Troon ship yard where he served his time fitting out ships, he then went onto working in various large projects within the local area which gave him a vast amount of knowledge and experience within the building industry.
Jimmy founded the family business in 1972, and his son Hamish became a partner in 1994 giving the same drive and dedication as his father to push the business forward gradually modernising the company over the years by introducing new machinery and equipment and further training for our employees.This we feel makes us more effective when it comes to giving the best price for each potential client.

Our fully equipped workshop is situated in Dreghorn, Irvine, Ayrshire. We have built up an excellent reputation over the years within the Commercial and public sector. Our aim is to continue profound customer services in every respect. James Walker & Sons are affiliated with Construction Industry Training Board CITB, throughout the years we have continually trained, mentored and supported apprentices to develop into quality tradesmen achieving City in Guilds, HND and SVQ Level 3 qualifications.
