There are 4 use classes of treated timber, starting from 1 being the least resilient to 4 being the longest lasting and best protection. The stages are featured in the table below which shows what you can expect from each use class.

The preservative in UC4 treated timber is the same, but the process prior to treatment is changed to enable more of the treatment to penetrate deeper into the timber; the timber will be dried in a kiln to reduce the moisture content down to around 28% and in some cases, less. The extent of moisture reduction can be identified through a number of moisture measurement methods.
Services
We look forward to welcoming everyone back into the shop, however, masks must be worn at all times and hand sanitiser must be used before to entering the shop. We are a family business which was first established in 1916 by John Hubbard, a mainly livestock farming business from which the traditional forms of hedge laying, coppicing and agricultural fencing have been passed down through the generations.
Orders for collection will only be ready after we have confirmed availability and received payment. Deliveries must be signed for therefore someone will need to be present at the given time. PLEASE NOTE our delivery service is to kerbside only. Due to insurance guidelines, our drivers are unable to enter private residences.
We offer a wide range of specialist buildings designed to your specification from small garden timber buildings and playhouses to garages and workshops. These are designed by our experienced staff and we are happy to install the base as well as the building for you. We can also offer a range of stables and barns again made to your specification as well as manufacturing doors to fit your existing buildings if you want to give them a revamp.
One of our specialist areas is producing garden doors and gates made to measure, we have a variety of designs shown below and if you want something slightly different let us have your ideas. All our doors and gates are made from joinery grade pressure treated softwood which has mortise and tenon joints, alternatively, we can make them out of green oak or other hardwoods.
We run a Lucas mobile sawmill which means we are able to saw trees into usable timber on site (subject to suitable access). If you have a large tree that you would like milling into posts up to 250mm x 250mm (10" x 10") or slabbing up to 1.2m (4ft) wide, please contact us to discuss. The more cost-effective option for you is to transport the timber to us so we can mill it on-site for an hourly rate.

All the staff seem to be nice people and are very helpful, good range of items. Worth going just for that. All that stuff is 5 star. Just need a better website and real time stock control. Website says things are out of stock but they are not. Also some other annoyances with buying online. So worth phoning.
