With their distinctive flattened edges and often slightly misshapen circumference, hammered coins are often easier to identify than they are to find. First produced around 600AD, British hammered coins remained in production until 1662 when the manufacturing process switched to milling because it offered improved levels of quality and security.

Highly reputable and professional auctioneers. A good collection of lots every month for both separate auctions for stamps and collectables. The staff are excellent in all departments. I highly recommend

I contacted Warwick and Warwick regarding a small coin collection and large stamp collection, they were extremely professional throughout and the final result from both sales was beyond my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will use them again.

Warwick and Warwick provided a probate service for me. Although I was a little wary as I had not had to do anything like this before, they could not have been more helpful, they even collected the collection for me. Being outside the UK this made life so much easier for me. Nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend them to anyone who has probate or even just valuation needs. They made an excellent offer for the collection ensuring that I could settle the matter quickly and with minimal fuss. Excellent service!

SELLER BEWARE - DO NOT USE - I recently sent my grandads bank note collection of over 150 notes from across the world. After looking online I knew the collection was worth a good amount of money and wanted a professional opinion. W&W valued the collection at £50 when several of these notes were selling for more than that individually. I took this collection to a different company and they valued the collection at £750. Also the package which W&W sent back didn't look opened as it still had the original bubble wrap and tape I sent it in on the package. Either they couldn't be bothered or they

SELLER BEWARE-GET SECOND OPINION ON VALUE. A while back I sent coins to W & W but one specific coin I knew was worth money, having done online research. Got letter back and they valued this AND ALL the others at £45.00 for the lot and for sale BY PRIVATE TREATY - crafty, eh!!! In seconds from £200 it went to £350 for this one specific coin with another auction house. Absolutely Shameful. SO SELLER PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I contacted Warwick & Warwick to inquire about some coins, to see if they were genuine, or had any value or history of note. I received a very brief response clarifying that the coins were not worth a sufficient amount to W&W in commission to assist with selling. There was no answer to my questions or further information about what would be required to get a valuation. I followed up asking if they would at least answer my questions or if there was any valuation option available, and have received no response. Doesn't exactly reflect the advertised free valuation, nor has it been even passable customer

I took in my late fathers model railway collection of over 19 boxes.I knew two unopened kits were worth over £400 each.I was offered £600 for the lot or they said would sell at auction for £800 and charge me £200 costs.
I declined, took the lot home and spent some time listing it on eBay and gumtree. I have sold over £3000 and still have a lot left to sell.Yes it’s taken me some time but have made a lot more money.
So my advice is don’t use this auction house but try and sell yourself

I contacted Warwick and Warwick to see if they could value my late uncle's stamp collection for probate (approx 90 albums). They were incredibly helpful from the outset, explaining the process and arranging swift pick up. They delivered the value within the anticipated time frame (despite Covid 19 lockdown being in full swing at this stage!). Their… valuer contacted me personally to talk through how the value was arrived at and to explain options from this stage on. They were then incredibly patient when we wanted a number of albums returned and swiftly re-valued the remaining albums and

I took my fathers life collection of stamps, 12 albums, from around the world. He had collected while on his travels in the RAF. I explained that some were of sentimental value to myself as I had traveled and lived in some of those countries. The website says it normally takes 2-3 weeks to look through large collections thoroughly so nothing of… value is missed. But the man who greeted us in reception took just 5 minutes with a quick flick through each album, to tell us it was only worth them making an offer of less than £100. But the most upsetting thing was his manner. He showed

Rude, condescending, and supercilious. Absolutely no empathy that I was recently bereaved and was selling a collection belonging to a late parent. I wasn’t looking to make a lot of cash but trying to pass a large collection of dye cast cars, stamps, coins and medals to a seller that I thought may help to re-home them. No chance. I was talked down… to and made to feel guilty for not having enough pre knowledge of the value of the collection. Terrible service. I’d rather give them away than these people make a penny out of my loved ones collection. DO NOT GO NEAR THEM!

EDIT: after posting the below review I got a call from Warwick and Warwick. They have now given me a breakdown, sent a new letter and apologised. My main issue was the aftercare and the way I was spoken to by one person on the phone.
Whilst they have taken steps to address my concerns, it was horrible to be spoken to so poorly by one of the staff… members when I am dealing with the personal affairs one of my family members who has recently passed away. Manners cost nothing!
Absolutely dreadful service. Took our valuables collection to be valued for probate and informed them of this when

I emailed with an initial question about the valuation of a mixture batch of postcards, stamps and cigarette cards. I had to email a second time to get a response. I duly sent the items off and the valuation arrived quite a few weeks later. I emailed again asking about the process for getting the items returned to me because the valuation was… sufficiently low that I didn't think it was worth the bother of auctioning them. I am still waiting for a response! Maybe I'm not a worthy customer because you only valued my items at £25. I also feel it would be nice if the valuation detailed

A nice quality auction house but they lack the tools to be a full service house. This is the 21st century and WW needs to be able to receive live online bidding. The Sale-room or another outlet but overseas bidders have no recourse but to lay in top all bids that have the potential to be frequently abused by auction houses. I'd like to see WW get more golf and boxing sportscards too. Love the guys working here. They go out of their way to assist your needs.
