Most people wrongly assume that all their possessions automatically pass to their husband or wife or other members of the family. For unmarried couples the situation is even worse than that for married couples. Making a Will is the only way to ensure that your wishes are carried out after your death.
If you have not made a valid Will your property will pass according to the Laws of Intestacy. This may not be what you would have wished. In any event it is likely to take longer to finalise than if you had made a Will. During this time your beneficiaries may not be able to draw any money from the estate.

The boom in home ownership over the past forty years as well as the growth of savings has made it essential for most people to have a professionally prepared will. After making sacrifices to own your home, you want to be sure where it will pass after your death. Couples with children whether married or not, should make a will in order to appoint guardians for their children.
We will all know of people who have had an accident, a stroke, other physical illness or who have become mentally incapable. If you were to become incapable of managing your affairs, who do you think would have the legal right to take over this responsibility?
Unfortunately, this is the wrong answer, your nearest and dearest have no legal right to take over the running of your affairs, unless you have given them that legal right, usually through a LASTING POWER OF ATTORNEY and most importantly, before you lost your capacity.

Most couples when considering their Wills believe the best and simplest way to do things is to say "I leave everything to my spouse and if my spouse predeceases me, I leave everything to our children". Sounds simple doesn't it? That's because it is simple and therefore the reality is most likely to be nothing like you intended.

I can’t praise Gillian & Co highly enough! Anna is very professional, accommodating and easy to deal with.
We had to sort out our Wills, and it couldn’t have been made any easier or straightforward to do. Anna explained everything clearly and concisely to us both, so we’re confident and have peace of mind that our Will is in order and in safe hands.
I would recommend Anna in a heart beat. Great service.

Contrary to the other sole review, I have nothing but praise...
A week before I had a major op, I decided to make a will !
Anna G was able to sort out 2 mirror wills, and 4 mirror POAs (Power of Attorney) for health and wealth; turned up on time for 2 'home visits' and 1 'witness signature home visit'; gave good advice and followed up the admin well (chasing up us, and our son, as necessary for required signatures etc.)
All this was completed in the 7-10 days before my op. I was pleased to not have to worry about the urgent timescale.
(In retrospect, I would advise anyone NOT to leave things
