Services
We are on a mission to bring the magic of music into every home and school in Brighton & Hove with music lessons in school, at home or online. We know learning music helps young people to unlock imagination, lifts spirits and improves literacy, numeracy and listening skills. So with us and our expert music teachers, your child will learn to harness the magical power of music to boost their confidence and creative skills for life.
The National Plan for Music Education highlights the important role which music has as part of a young person's education. Singing or playing a musical instrument really enriches children and young people's lives as well having a positive impact on other aspects of education and learning. There are so many different instruments to choose from representing a wide range of musical styles - something for everyone!
We have a stock of instruments which are available to hire or loaned free of charge to families who are eligible. Priority is given to children learning under the Subsidised Tuition Scheme. We also have a stock of larger and more expensive instruments such as double basses, oboes, bassoons and French horns.
My child is starting to learn an instrument for the first time. How will I know when my child's first lesson is? Your instrumental teacher will contact you to give you details about your child's first lesson and to confirm instrument details and music required. We aim to start new pupils as soon as possible.
We are accepting applications for all the activities listed below. Once you are on a waiting list a member of our team will be in touch shortly to confirm your place or to discuss an alternative. Our main audition period takes place during the summer term to enable players to join ensembles at the beginning of the academic year.
