Organ performance: This is one of the most important days of your life. The selection of music for this happy day should enhance the atmosphere of the occasion. Different styles of music is often needed for different wedding venues. I have had many years experience with planning music and organ performance for weddings and enjoy working with couples to get the best selection of music for them.
I teach music lessons where students can either study for exams or simply for pleasure. I teach the full age range from children to adults. For exams I usually use the ABRSM examination syllabi and would expect most students to complete an exam grade within two or three terms; this is after beginners have reached a basic level of competence.
We always aim to carefully select material for students beginning their studies. Different resources are used depending on the age of the beginner. We use simultaneous learning methods to enable a wide range of learning experiences with each piece being learned.

Students who wish to start organ lessons are advised that they should be at the middle grades of the piano. This is purely making sure that they have the keyboard technique ready to play. Students who are not at this stage should aim to improve their technique on the piano as it is much easier to master on that instrument.
We use a range of tried and tested material to build up the basic reading of music including notation, rhythm and pitching of sounds to the different notes in a number of different scales over a sixteen week course. Please note this is a non exam subject but does support those singers who wish to go on to examination syllabi in singing.
