We are an independent family-run business based in Cuffley, Hertfordshire. We supply, install and maintain water softeners and filtration systems for domestic and commercial use in parts of London and surrounding areas. Alan set up Capital Softeners in 1983 after being in partnership with his father Jim who had already been in the industry 15 years.
As an independent business, we supply, install and maintain water softeners from a range of the world's leading brands. This means that we can always choose the best water softener for your home and needs, rather than simply choosing from a single brand's offering. A water softener is a resin based machine that is connected to your water supply to make your hard water soft.
Our water filtration systems fit under the kitchen sink and do not require electricity to work. Instead of relying on a worktop-mounted filter, the filtration system is hidden in a cupboard and you can simply use your tap to receive filtered, deliciously clean water in your kitchen. The 'twist and lock' design on all of our systems means that changing filters is incredibly easy.
As an independent business we are able to offer RO systems from different manufacturers, giving our customers the option that is best suited for them. A Reverse Osmosis (RO) system is a drinking water system which removes up to 99% of impurities from your water supply, giving you the highest purity - it is the only type of drinking water system that does this.
Over the recent years we have trialled and tested a range of different boiling taps from various different manufacturers. We have found Quooker to be by far the best on the market. No other brand comes close when comparing water temperature and longevity of a product. A Quooker tap can be fitted into new kitchens and also retrofitted into existing ones.

I am so pleased with the water softener they installed. It has massively reduced the amount of bathroom cleaning I need to do, which is a huge bonus, as well as leaving our washing a lot softer and feeling cleaner than before. I was really impressed with the whole service start to finish - I particularly liked the way the prices were laid out from the first phone call. I didn't feel at any time I was being given a hard sell which can be really off-putting. They were really knowledgeable about all the various options, and gave me enough information to consider and choose in my own time. The installation

Excellent experience with capital softeners installing a new water softener. The came around to provide a quote, answered all my questions and provided recommendations on the installation. The installation was promptly booked in, and the installation itself was straightforward. The team installing were very efficient and quick, and cleaned up after themselves too. Really happy with the service provided, and happy with the softener installed.

I had a great experience with them, from the initial prompt communication all the way to installation of my water softener. They offered a free visit to assess feasibility and suggested a few options according to our needs. Scheduling, payment and all other logistics were also perfectly smooth. The installation was easy and professional, and I particularly appreciate the care they put to find the most non-disruptive spot for both a water softener and a filter.

Excellent communication and service! The initial installation was very smooth and straight forward. They very promptly dealt with all of my concerns. A few weeks after the installation I learned that I did not like the taste of soft water, and they very quickly installed a second tap in my kitchen with hard water. Very pleased with everything! I can't recommend Capital Softeners enough, they installed my softener 8 years ago, and when it stopped working this week they were able to send the engineers to me the next day, and fix it straight away on site so less than 2 days after it failed I'm back up and running. Their engineers are professional, knowledgeable and efficient and also took sensible covid precautions. I will continue to recommend Capital Softeners to any of my friends considering a water softener.
