Services
Port Penrhyn is ideally situated towards the North Eastern entrance to the Menai Straits, close to the small cathedral City of Bangor. Sheltered by the Isle of Anglesey it provides a safe haven and close access to the North West commercial network. Dickies International as the managing agent is developing the commercial operations of Port Penrhyn with the expected growth in coastal shipping in the future.
Port Penrhyn is a tidal port with an operating time of 2 to 3 hours either side of high water. However we operate mainly with flat bottom 2500 - 3000 tonne coasters loading over the tide. We also specialise in heavy lifts with good access and plenty of dock side storage. Vessels engaged in towing where the combined length of the towing vessel and the tow is 50m in length or more.
Port Penrhyn is the home base for a number of commercial vessels involved in fishing and the mussel industry. We are also only 10 miles from one of the world's biggest slate mines and export large quantities of slate products throughout Europe on a regular basis.

Sand, general cargo, slate (tiles, powder and granules), aggregates, rock armour, project cargoes (heavy lifts) including power station transformers up to 300 tonnes, windmill tower sections, salt, scrap metal, wood.We do have limited options for "annual berthing agreements" for smaller commercial vessels under licence.
At Port Penrhyn we have a unique facility for both Commercial and Leisure crafts who can avoid costly haul out charges for some underwater work by using our drying out grid. Recently a popular facility for many of the Wind Farm Boats working off the North Wales coast. This is truly a cost effective solution for some of your annual boat maintenance.
At Port Penrhyn for some time we have been the point of access for the National Grid to move and deliver Turbines for their Hydro Electric schemes in North Wales. As the best point of entry for such equipment Port Penrhyn has in the past seen the lifting and movements of single lifts up to 270 Tonne.

Took my RIB there recently for a service with them being a Suzuki agent, we had already discussed likely service price and I was pretty happy with the cost, on collection the service price was actually cheaper… than originally quoted as there were a couple of items that didn’t require replacement.
There are not many honest companies left out there and most would have charged anyway, highly recommended 👍👍👍
