Services
For over 80 years, King Cole has built a reputation for supplying the highest quality hand and machine knitting wool and yarns in the latest styles, colours and materials to professional and hobbyist knitters worldwide. Our extensive range includes both specialist and non-specialist knitting wool, available in hundreds of shades and in qualities ranging from 100% Acrylic to 100% Wool.
Over the years fashion has played an important part in our development and we have built up the most amazing design archive - from the necessity of the 1940's wartime knitter (who wanted to knit something quite glamorous as well as helping the war effort), through the fair isles and space dyes of the 1970's, the batwings and mohairs of the 1980's, up to the present day - Sirdar has created something from every fashion movement and our design archive is incredibly diverse.
Yarn for weaving, machine and hand knitting projects for over 30 years in all fibres, and still going strong! YEOMAN YARNS ETHICAL POLICY / OEKE-TEX 100 /'BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE': ALL our products are spun and dyed under stringent controls, to ensure quality, wash fastness, no use of environmentally harmful dyestuffs or chemicals, and comply with European ECO/ISO standards.
At West Yorkshire Spinners we are extremely proud of our British Heritage, we are one of the few remaining worsted spinning companies left in the United Kingdom. We firmly believe that knowing where our raw material comes from guarantees that the quality of the finished product is consistently high.
Tools and supplies for traditional and contemporary rug making. The tradition of making rag mats isn't unique to the North East of the UK but the terms hooky and proggy are. They are also known as clippy mats, proddy mats and peg rugs, for example. Like many crafts, mat-making was originally born out of necessity, but today is very much about the pleasure of making and the growing interest in recycling.

The shop has a really wide selection of yarns and fibre. They stock spinning supplies, tops and locks as well as an impressive range of wool spun by small UK companies and hand spun locally. On top of this, they have a big selection of commercial yarns for every pocket. The pattern selection is really big and they also have a small selection of hand made items. The customer service is polite, warm and helpful. The shop is a complete gem for anyone who knits, crochet or spins.

Very unwelcoming. Didn’t speak as we walked in. When the lady served us she was very abrupt, no please or thank you. Such a well stocked shop and we thought we’d support local but never again - would rather buy on line at least at an on line check out it says ‘thank you’

Brilliant shop, very kind and helpful owners. Helped me sort a problem with my knitting machine. I bought another machine there that was in very good condition after having a very bad experience of purchasing on line. I would definitely go back for anything I needed. So nice to have a real shop with knowledgable owners and not a virtual one.

Undy is a beautiful, well stocked shop, one of the best I've been to, however I have found the service to be poor. The lady shop owner is always sullen, very unwelcoming and leaves you with the impression that customers are a nuisance, which to me is unfathomable! A welcoming smile would make all the difference in the world and people might even buy more!
Her manner leaves a lot to be desired and I for one will not be returning.

Helpful if needed but don't attack you when you enter which I appreciate. Wonderful selection of yarns, pretty much anything you could need. Good value.

You will find everything you need to start knitting or crocheting with lots of help and advise. You only have to ask the young couple behind the counter. You will be pleasantly surprised on what you will discover beyond their shop front door. It is a shame that I don't live closer otherwise I would visit more often than I'm able presently.
