Pillar Kincardine strives for a greater life for everyone with direct or indirect experience of mental and emotional health issues. Many of us have to cope at some time in our lives with feelings of hopelessness and despair. Anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, a bereavement, or a sudden loss of confidence, can seem overwhelming.

Pillar Kincardine is a local Mental Health organisation whose mission is to improve the lives of adults living in Kincardine and Mearns who are seeking help to cope with emotional, social or mental health challenges.
Services
Pillar Kincardine was founded in 1989 as a result of the success of "Stepping Stones" and Pillar Aberdeen's provision of social and leisure activities for people within the city at a time when, within Aberdeenshire, little service existed beyond Community Psychiatric Nurses and 'generic' social workers.
I've been wanting to tell my story for a while now and as today is World Suicide Prevention day I thought that this would be a good time. Before I became ill, I was a wife, a mum a daughter a sister and a friend. People described me as happy go lucky, up for a joke and a laugh, and I always just got on with life.
People refer themselves to Pillar because they are experiencing practical, social or emotional difficulties which are having a negative impact on their mental health and well-being. The foundation of our service is empathy and compassion and we use a recovery focussed, approach to help people work out what is important to them as they set goals that will improve their ability to positively manage their mental health and wellbeing.
At Pillar, we know that asking for help can be really difficult and that's why, when you take that first step and contact us for support or information, you will be treated with sensitivity and respect. You can have confidence that you are not alone. When you start your journey, we will be with you all the way giving you the support, guidance and encouragement you feel you need.
