We create small batch artisan handcrafted houmous based on traditional Middle Eastern recipes, with an added dollop of Brighton flair. We only use the highest quality ingredients that we can source, including locally-made tahini and organic chickpeas, and flavour is sealed in with olive oil. The result?
The best houmous you'll ever eat. You can find Smorl's Houmous all over Brighton & Hove, including local wholefood shops, health food stores, cafes, and the Smorl's Kitchen at Brighton Open Market. The Smorl's Kitchen is our vegan cafe in the Brighton Open Market, dedicated to all things houmous.

Houmous addiction is real, and that's why Houmous Anonymous exists - share your tales of delicious houmous slathered dishes or late nights spent with just a bag of breadsticks and a tub of Smorl's by your side. We all understand here. We won't judge. The first step to understanding you've got a houmous addiction is understanding what to look out for.
Our houmous comes in four different varieties, with options to suit every palate and occasion. We put the utmost care and attention into every aspect of our houmous preparation, from ingredients to cooking to storing it, and whether you're a discerning houmous addict or a newbie to the game, you can be assured of one thing: this is the best tasting houmous you'll ever eat.
At Smorl's, we're always looking at ways to reduce our environmental footprint on the planet. Our take-away salad boxes, coffee cups & lids, take-away bags and take-away cutlery are all bio-degradeable and/or compostable and/or plant-based.
Unfortunately, we currently can find no Food Hygiene Standard alternative to our tamper-proof plastic houmous pots, but one move in the right direction is to enable you to pay by weight, supplying your own container for houmous. Please note that this service is only available from the Smorl's Cafe at Brighton Open Market.

You can buy Smorl's houmous all over Brighton & Hove and get creative with it in your own dishes, but if you'd like us to do the work for you then this is the place. We have a great range of dishes from the tried and true such as falafel pittas and salad boxes, to the more experimental such as the savoury Mezze Cake and our waffalafels.

Had a Smorls Mezze Platter at Oxfest and it was scrumptious!!! For £10 myself and hubby shared falafels, houmous, roasted peppers, pitta.... yum yum yum And the extra little pops of pomegranate seeds and chilli sauce bought it all together. Excellent value and even excellenter (😬) food!!! If you see a smorls tent/marquee at an event, definitely worth a try. Nearly forgot to mention the bbq corn 🌽

Was lucky enough to be working in the Open Market on Sunday after spending the weekend on the road eating service station food. The very reasonable large falafel salad plate felt like a nourishment recharge, full of great flavours and was really satisfying. I ordeder a half pitta bread as well, but the salad on its own would have been more than sufficient
