Chilham Castle
Set in the grounds of Chilham Castle, home of the Wheeler family near Canterbury, Kent, Chilham Park has been established as a top cross country venue since 2004. Shortlisted as a training ground for the London Olympics, the Park offers fences ranging from 2 feet up to and including a complete British Eventing Novice course designed by Scott Brickell.

Chilham cross country course is set in 18th century parkland, but our goal is professional 21st century equestrian events. The course is available throughout the year for hire and is ideal for the competitive rider or for the leisure rider enjoying 300 acres of beautiful scenery. Local trainers often use Chilham Park as a training ground for their students - please look to the course guide for more information.
Services
The hunter trial is a single phase competition taking place over a series of cross country fences. The 50cm class will be run within a fenced field with all jumps viewable from the Start/Finish box; the other classes will run over the Chilham cross country course. Pairs and Team classes will not be running in 2021.
For queries and questions related to entries, timetabling and refunds, please contact our British Eventing entries secretary directly. All vehicles displaying a current BE car pass or valid BE membership car will be allowed free entry. Due to health and safety considerations, cars (other than those towing horse-boxes) are not permitted in the lorry park.
I'd like to extend you the warmest welcome to our Spring 2021 British Eventing Horse Trials. For queries and questions related to entries, timetabling and refunds, please contact our British Eventing entries secretary directly. The event schedule is now available - all entries should be made via the British Eventing.
If you are new to competing at this level, these are some of the important things that you need to know. For CCI1*-S, the horse and rider combination must have 3x MERs at BE100, BE105 or B100Plus. Chilham Castle is easily accessible from both the M20 and M2 but if you are travelling some distance to us, you might want to think about overnight stabling.
Congratulations to Sally Thornley and Willy; winners of the Chilham 2020/21 Championship having accumulated 28 points across all four of the season events. Vita Welcome & The Marvellous Mr M take second place with an impressive 24 points. She brought him to Chilham in May for the 70 and 80 as only his 2nd ever attempt at a xc run so was over the moon to have our first clear round placing us in 2nd in the 80.

We came today for the 50 class. (My daughters first time xc) The judges and stewards were all very welcoming and helpful. We can’t wait to come again. Lovely relaxed atmosphere 😊
