The Aftercare Company was founded in 2000 after owner Shirley Jaffrey had her first Tattoo. Shirley's tattoo artist advised her to use Prep H to heal her skin. Shirley who was a qualified aromatherapist, nurse and natural health practitioner decided to use her knowledge and made a blend using her own recipe to heal her tattoo.
She then started researching what tattoo aftercare was available and being almost pre-google days this meant going to libraries and making lots of phone calls. Shirley discovered apart from a fledgling company in the US no-one was making an aftercare specifically to heal the skin after a Tattoo. This led Shirley to develop and test her own product recipe.

Do not over apply. Remember your skin has gone through trauma having been punctured with a row of needles thousands of times while unloading the ink. So gently does it. Wash the tattoo again at night with warm water and apply another fine layer of aftercare. Keeping the skin supple and moisturised during the healing process lessens the chances of scabbing.

Been using the tattoo aftercare product for 15 years.
The kids use it on scrapes, bites etc. It was also used to great effect on chicken pox spots and seemed to really reduce itching.
Still handmade by Shirley and her team.
They also have other products, I have not tried them but can only assume that there are of equal quality.

Recently had a new rib piece and a piece on my upper back. My tattoo artist sold the tattoo aftercare balm so thought I’d give it a go. WOW!! Best decision ever!! I’m on day 6 of healing and my ribs are nearly done and my back is well on it’s way! Considering a lot of my back is solid black too it’s doing great! I’ve just finished my 10ml pot and brought 2 more 20ml pots to make sure it lasts until both are fully healed! Amazing product wouldn’t use anything else now!

We sell the tattoo aftercare in our studio and, quite honestly, wouldn't sell anything else. It's fantastic.
As well as that, we usually have half-used pots around our home. I can say that so far it has successfully helped: grazed-knees, picked-spots, scuffs, sunburn, chapped-lips, chapped-noses, picked insect bites, healing blisters.... And the empty pots are great for storing ear-studs, paper-clips, and many other tiny, easily-losable items. ^_^
