Despite the first enforced shutdown of all leisure facilities by the Gov.uk regulations we at WIBC were very busy throughout the summer with our planned programme of maintenance and improvement. The Lounge and Bar were redecorated and partially re-carpeted. Important renovations have been made to the cooling system in the bar cold store.
Worn stretches of tarmac were stripped and replaced in the car park and white lining renewed as necessary. A new disabled parking space and an area for mobility scooters have been created. As extra level of protection, we invested in a a 'fogging machine' which disinfects the whole club each day.

In 1933 when a mineral water company vacated premises opposite Worthing Central Station an opportunity was taken to provide the first indoor bowls venue in this area and amid smoke from steam engines wafting across the road, local professional men set about converting the old building into a top venue for the sport.
Our highly acclaimed catering is provided by Simon and Mandy (Chevron Catering). We are happy to announce that the restaurant will be providing the following opportunities for members during this difficult time. We will be open for breakfasts between 9:30 and 11:30 - normally available to bowlers booked in to play on Saturday mornings and also members who phone up in advance.
We provide free tuition courses for new bowlers which are run by club members who are experiened instructors. This is a great opportunity to discover whether bowls is for you. To gain the certificate you will be shown how to handle and deliver a bowl, introduced to the laws of the game, how to measure between jack and bowl and how to play in a team.
During the year we are delighted to hold a number of regular events including themed music evenings, quiz nights and regular bingo sessions, which are all well attended. The lounge has a seating capacity of approximately 100 and a small dance floor by the bar. Stereo music is available as well as sufficient power points and room for a professional DJ.

I started playing at the club last year and have found it to be a very enjoyable experience. The club is professionally run with a friendly atmosphere.
The club are looking for new members even though the membership is good itโs a great way to keep fit while having fun, I would recommend it to anyone and have done, those that have joined have not been disappointed.
The club is diverse in holding many activities apart from bowls see website, ๐
